If you last flew 2 years ago, what makes you think that you need to start over?

Good day all, I have an opportunity to be in BC for a month in October and want to do a "rusty pilots PPL course" in the Vancouver area. I am so rusty that my foreign licence has expired so will need to start as if I am ab intio. So I guess medical, student licence and as many hours as I can cram in.
Yes, you're making all sorts of assumptions there, both good and bad, that aren't correct.

Let's start with the basics: from what country do you hold a PPL?

You really really need to contact an instructor at a flight school who has lots of experience of foreign pilot conversions and accurately and properly knows the Canada licensing situation for those pilots. For one thing, you're not going to get very far in the month you're in BC if you start ab initio, and anyway it could take six months for you to get a Transport Canada Category three medical, which is a prerequisite for a Canadian PPL.
