What's this about? Have they broken the "foreign ownership" rules? (Sorry I don't know much about it. Is it max. 49% that a Canadian carrier can be owned by a foreign entity?)

Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
Good evening guys,
I know there has already been a couple of interviews in March and april.
If i understood right there is the last batch of interviews going on in on the end of april until mid-may for the last ground school that should start in June ( Again that’s what i understood from reading the last couple of posts here and talking with people that already got an interview).
I was wondering how many more pilots are they looking forward to hire. I assume there is somebody on this thread that i think might work with Flair due to his responses on this page.
I am simply asking because i got an interview with them. I am around 1700-1800 TT(Multi Turbine). And why i am wondering how many more are they looking for to recruit is simply because i know guys that have less than 1000 TT that got an interview with them. ( Asking all this questions just to have a general idea if now Total time hours are in the average or below average compared to the guys that already got an offer before from Flair)
Are they in need of a lot of pilots or they just want to have a big pool of candidats so they could choose the best personalities etc….

Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
$67k for FO
$115k for Capt.
New pay rates will be revealed in the new CBA in the coming weeks.
Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
The new pay scale better be good. Apparently Sunwing received a lot of résumé from Flair pilots.
Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
The new contract and payscale has been a few weeks away since Fall 2021. Wonder what the issues are?
Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
They continue to receive applications without having to review the pay scale, I would think.

Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
I've heard Flair has dropped the 2 year bond? Any truth to that?
Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
I doubt it. My friend who got a June 6 groundschool still mentioned the bond. If they have its VERY new.
Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
Was in April 5th GS, no bond. Current CBA doesn’t have a training bond, not sure about the new CBA that is still under negotiation. My friend is also in June 6th GS, there is no training bond in his offer letter nor did they mention a bond. Seems like some misinformation floating around.

Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
Sounds like a bad rumour.
The only "bond" I had seen was that they no longer accept LOA's and want to see your resignation. I was willing to provided 2.5 years (min), and that wasn't sufficient.

Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
Hmm.. maybe I’m misremembering. They did ask for proof of resignation, which now that he mentioned LOA’s kinda makes sense. I thought it was weird at the time.YYZshill wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 5:16 pmWas in April 5th GS, no bond. Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
Are there are any plans to get travel benefits for families? Like zed fares etc.
Whats the likelihood that Flair will survive? I have 1800 hours and applied there. How long before I receive a call?

Hi, does anyone know if YVR’s base is seniority based or you need to bid for it after been hired? What’s the possibility for the first year FO get YVR based? Thanks!
Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
There are flair family benefits, pretty standard. Zed fare is coming based in a couple months I believe.Apestogetherstrong wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 11:20 am Are there are any plans to get travel benefits for families? Like zed fares etc.

Thats up for you to decide. If you think flair will survive hopefully you'll get hired and you'll enjoy your time here. If you don't want to take the risk go apply else where you think has better job security. Nobody can give you an answer whether or not a company will fold or not.

Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
Everything is seniority based. Not sure what the need is for crews in each base. That depends on growth in tails and capacity in each base. If you don't get YVR, you might get YXX which is still fine for anyone living in the lower mainland.
Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
Wondering what hiring is like these days. Currently just shy of 2000 hours TT with around 1200 hours large jet (CRJ) time and ATPL.
Is this currently competitive? And would an upgrade still be considered at 4000 TT?
Thanks.

Yes and yes, hit the Flair website and fill in the application! Lots of courses planned for the next year is what I hear.

Hmm. The C-series is just shy of 70T and the Max 8 is about 82.tbaylx wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 1:32 pm--700/900 is over 75T so would be considered "large" by many employers who look for 60T + time
Wiki lists the RJ900 at 38T. Were you thinking lbs?
