Hi all,
Anyone have an issue with their mic boom on the A20's becoming loose, and "falling" away from your mouth? I have about 2000 hours on my headset, out of warranty. I know that you can easy switch the whole mic unit from one ear cup to another, but haven't come across any screws to tighten the resistance of the boom itself. If the boom is lowered just a little bit below my mouth, it falls down even more by itself. Any solutions would be appreciated.

Re: Loose Bose A20 Mic boom
I just replaced my mic boom myself. You have to unscrew the cover plate on the ear cup connector the mic boom is attached to and you’ll find a snap ring holding it on along with the connector that ties it into the whole plug unit that connects to the ear cup. You’ll need a little Philips screwdriver but otherwise it was a fairly simple job. You can also order replacement booms on eBay for around 50 bucks. Your snap ring may have just got worn out and you need a new one that’ll hold more tension.

Had the same problem. A20 out of Warranty. Walked into BrantAero (Brantford airport), and had it fixed. They did a full makeover replacing wires, pads, etc…cost around $150 if I remember right. Was 2017 I think. They said I could wait around and they’ll be done in a couple hours too. Great service.
