Wagaero Sportsman 2+2 Structural Failure

C-FFDA, a Wagaero Sportman 2+2 (amateur built) on floats, was flying according to
visual flight rules (VFR) in the Lake Onistagane, QC area (approximately 16 nautical miles
south of Alma, Quebec (CYTF). The Canadian Mission Control Center picked up a signal from
emergency locator transmitter (ELT) and the aircraft was found, reversed,
in a wooded and secluded area in the Lake Onistagane area. The 2 occupants received
fatal injuries. Inspection of the wreckage at the accident site showed that the left wing was
would be detached in flight.
