I'm not sure what's more depressing: That everyone has a price, or how low the price always is.

Yeah, the 172 is a fine type, for general use with a light load. I think it less good for low altitude patrol, it just does not have the power to get yourself out of a bad situation when you do not have the altitude to trade for airspeed. It's a delicate thing patrolling in a 172, assuring that flying is first, and looking out the window and maneuvering for the optimum view is second priority.

>400ft tower in the immediate vicinity of where the crash was reported to have happened. No idea if it was a factor. And it's Shaunavon, not Shauvan.

C-GZLU, a Cessna 172 operated by Airborne Energy Solutions, was conducting a pipeline inspection flight south of the town Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. The flight consisted of multiple legs to facilitate visual and electronic data collection of pipeline infrastructure, between Swift Current, Saskatchewan, and Estevan, Saskatchewan. At approximately 1015 Central Standard Time, approximately 6 nautical miles (NM) south-southwest of Shaunavon, the aircraft struck a 466-foot communications tower. A 4-foot section of the aircraft's right wing was shorn off. The aircraft then entered a steep descent and collided with the ground approximately 640 m southeast of the tower.
A post-impact fire ensued, which consumed most of the wreckage. The 2 crew members were fatally injured. The aircraft was destroyed. TSB investigators deployed to the scene.
