Flair’s new routes?

Post by flyguy2135 »

Flair’s new routes for winter:
Lethbridge, Fort McMurray and Prince George to Tucson.
Ottawa to Thunder Bay for $19

Is there anything to see in Tucson?
There is no way they can fill a 737 from Lethbridge…
I’m curious to see if this new approach will work
Some of the other routes seem feasible.

Can anyone comment if these have worked out?

If you are only paying $17 for a ticket, you figure they would get more people who want to travel from Lethbridge that normally wouldn’t travel

Did WJ take away jumpseat agreement from Flair pilots? Is this in retaliation to Flair stealing WJ pilots?

WestJet has served notice to end the Jumpseat agreement effective Nov 20. It's an apparent corporate decision that didn't involve the pilot groups. Both sides are attempting reverse the decision.

If they want to end a jump seat agreement, they should terminate the whole jump seat agreement not only Flair.
Maybe there are too many Flair pilots commuting on wj planes?

I heard that flair mgmt/HR was advertising to new hire with information sheets that jump seat agreements were available with westjet. I think there was some policy contravention in regards to Jumpseat rules.

Westjet and jazz can barely fill a small turboprop to Calgary from lethbridge or from PG to Vancouver. There will have to be alot of market stimulation that is extremely ambitious by Flair to fly 737s to Tucson. Tucson is nothing to wrote home about. Wow.

Flair wants to make money, they should go to Thompson and Rankin Inlet.

Based on the cost structure they could charge $500, make money and be significantly cheaper than the competition.
