What’s sad, and funny at the same time, is that’s more money than what a 1st year swoop FO makes on the 737. They only makes $54k

Yup around 57k for a first year Q400 FO (Assuming it passes).

But I suppose at least they get a spot on the Pilot Seniority List and can bid to mainline after 2 years.Dronepiper wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 7:58 pm Yup around 57k for a first year Q400 FO (Assuming it passes).

Encore mgmt is yet to address the PTA issue as far as I’m aware. Not gonna be many people willing to go there now. Whatever the pay.

It's more than a first year 777 FO and RP make at AC.Dronepiper wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 7:58 pm Yup around 57k for a first year Q400 FO (Assuming it passes).

Canada must be the only country in the world that has Year 1 FOs on a widebody making less than the senior FAs in the back.averageatbest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 10, 2023 9:12 amIt's more than a first year 777 FO and RP make at AC.Dronepiper wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 7:58 pm Yup around 57k for a first year Q400 FO (Assuming it passes).

Re: MOA
I heard Encore pilots have airport standby now.
Was this negotiated with this MOA?

There is no airport standby for pilots at Encore.kiaszceski wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 3:37 pm I heard Encore pilots have airport standby now.

The only thing that is happening is that the company is getting creative outside the bounds of the contract and all agreements. The things that all pilots at Encore need to know are:
- You cannot have two duty periods in the same day (company/union agreement)
- You cannot have reserve after duty (CARs)
- You are required to be able to show up at your assigned base within two hours while on reserve (CBA)
- You are required to refuse any duty that violates the CARs (CARs)
The company CANNOT force you to hold reserve anywhere other than your assigned base. You can be told to hold displacement reserve out of base, but must be assigned and actively on a pairing to be displaced off of.

Re: MOA
Does it really matter to know the contract to the letter when Encore seems to have 200 grievances?
Re: MOA
Is anyone willing to post what a typical 1st year FO would take home for pay? Somebody posted a full month pay stub in the WJ mainline forum which was really helpful, including per diems and all deductions including health insurance and taxes etc. Would be really helpful to know what an avg monthly pay would look like. I know the basic amounts being 52.51/hr x 77.5 mmg plus the 850 for the MOA, but am missing all the other info. Thanks!
Re: MOA
Is it true that Encore is due for a new MOA by end of the year? And the payscale 3 start + 850 is just a stop go measure until then? And will Jazz's new MOA play any role into trying to match it (currently Jazz 65k vs 59k Encore)?

Re: MOA
Sort of. The MOA expires at the end of the year, but that was by design.
The collective agreement expires at the same time (December 31, 2023) and negotiations will likely cover the items covered by all MOAs.
As far as Jazz's MOA, that likely won't affect our negotiations as they got less pay and more work for the same pay. The pilots at Encore will not accept anything less than what we have now, and will likely not accept less than a sizable increase in wage and working conditions.
Re: MOA
But right now an FO starts at level 3, $52 + 850/m 75 MMG, 57k yearly meanwhile Jazz starts at 65, 80 MMG, 65k yearlydontcallmeshirley wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 10:03 amSort of. The MOA expires at the end of the year, but that was by design.

I'm new to this but how is Jazz less pay for more work?
