I've seen several of these Air Traffic Operations Specialist positions come up on NavCanada hiring the past few months.
Does anyone have anymore info on these? Can it lead to ATC training? Does it offer a more relaxed work-life balance? Are they only out of the ACCs? How is training? OT and premiums available?
I haven't seen much about these spots, but the pay is fairly comparable and might be a good back up? Can anyone here speak to these?
Thank you!

Re: ATOS
ATOS is not ATC.
Does not lead to ATC training,
Is shift work so balanced like the rest of aviation
They support ATC with IFR flight plans, located in the ACC, usually in a small office off the ops floor somewhere.
Pay is not like ATC.
Small group and spots don't open up often.
