Does the Former MEC Chair smoke crack?
His tenure was before my time but does this guy smoke crack like Doug Ford?
I'm fully expecting a video to come out of him smoking crack after reading his posts on the forum and seeing him run around like a crack head to different mics at the Toronto meeting

Re: Does the Former MEC Chair smoke crack?
Ya, there's certainly something strange going on in this guys head. He easily ranks a the absolute worst MEC Chair we have ever encountered. Bruce White is a close second.
I'm puzzled as to his motive for acting this way. It's either money, like someone is paying him or there is some other financial incentive. Or, there is some personal motive like a bruised ego or loss of personal opportunity. It's possibly also a combination of not having do do real work on full displacement, and all the perks that came with cozying to to the Company, like free tickets to the AC box at sporting events. He was the "big man" who could make himself look like a hero to the Corp at the pilots direct expense.
Anyone remember how he "rushed into the burning building" with our wages to save the Corp during the first two months of Covid???? 55 hours for all (contract minimum was 70 hours+-) while they wrote themselves a fat cheque at 82 hours for "all the extra work they were doing". No due due dilligence, no following the contract. He literally "tripped on the doorsill running into the burning building" to offer us up as a sacrifice. The contract was clearly written to protect the Membership in the event of a downturn. If the Contract was followed, a cascading downbid would have followed any layoff intent, creating huge training costs that would have made layoffs entirely uneconomical. He also authorized vacation buybacks during layoffs (direct violation) and a multitude of other "contract deviations" that did no service to the group nor those on layoff. He also allowed another contract violation when those on layoff returned. Their position bidding rights were violated. We signed a ten year deal with a paltry substandard increase that didn't even keep up with inflation to protect ourselves and give us economic certainty. The Corp excelled and the stock price soared while we were frozen by contract for years. "Nothing for you, you signed a contract", until Covid. The contract was literally "thrown out the window", protections and all to benefit the Corp who had no intent on ever returning the favor or properly acknowleging the sacrifices we made. The Executive suite got bonuses (yes they gave then back, but only temporarily), while the MEC also gave themselves pay protection why we were either working a Home Depot pushing carts, or struggling to keep up with life expenses on 65% of our greatly reduced salary. The big man took a 233% raise while we are given the "high hat" through the Shine Points program. "Here's enough points to buy a friggin toaster, enjoy". Were still stuck a 2%, that's 4% below inflation. They have had every opportunity to correct our wages and acknowledge us fairly going forward. All we get are "crickets". You signed a ten year deal. Now MM's all in a twist about us changing representation. Thanks MM, you and the Corps choices have finally woken up the group from their irresponsible slumber.
He's clearly upset and posting in a twisted rage. It's actually comical and very amusing. He seems to have an answer for everything, a completely arrogant know-it-all.
I voted for this guy years ago. Biggest voting mistake I've ever made. He did a complete 180 on this campaign promises. He was a big advocate for ALPA early on, so it's easy to requote him and make him look like a complete hypocrite.
Real piece of work. I'm wondering how lonely his layovers are.

As we near the end of the ALPA/ACPA vote, I see these posts of his, flailing away, trying any edge he can as desperation and panic. It’s over.
He’s so arrogant, I don’t think he sees that he alone is the major cause of everyone running to ALPA. Certainly, anyone on the fence before, no longer is.
I too voted for him. A grand platform, saying everything we wanted to hear. I too was amazed how quickly he reneged on just about every campaign promise. I hope Air Canada has a management position for him as he’s in for a lonely life as a line pilot.

I got my crack smoking politicians mixed up
Sounds like there maybe a few former ACPA reps in the mix for the top crackhead honor
Re: Does the Former MEC Chair smoke crack?
There is a zero percent chance that Doug hasn't smoked crack.
Re: Does the Former MEC Chair smoke crack?
I think for our former chair this battle is personal.
He has been trying to kill the ALPA push from the outset. Culling ALPA supporters from committees. Sanctioning elected ALPA supporters who spoke out on the cargo deal. He looked down on the entire group labelling them Children 4 Change.
Don't forget P4C went quiet after all the committee firings waiting for the next election cycle. He thought the change vermin had been exterminated. Just prior to the election cycle he quit. Then P4C launched an election blitz. He viewed it as a hostile takeover. His choice to quit at that moment opened the door to a balance of power change during that cycle.
It's about control. His quitting handed earlier control, than would have happened otherwise, to those he opposed.
I simply think it isn't sitting well with him that these "less thans" are now running the show and his determination to stop the ALPA push failed. Not only that he unwittingly help hand them the keys.

Re: Does the Former MEC Chair smoke crack?
Not sure exactly what is going on with him at they moment. It's certainly like a PG version of when TL's clutch started slipping. Honestly it makes me wonder if TL was on to something, it's unfortunate that he went about it in a non productive manner.
MM's reign of terror has certainly helped push many ACPA supporters to finally throw up the white towel and vote for ALPA.. when he makes KV's leadership look good... You know it's bad.

Re: Does the Former MEC Chair smoke crack?
MM is a caricature of his generation. The obstinate, self-serving boomer pilot. Looking to make up for past injustices (real or perceived) at the expense of everyone else. Zero concern for anyone junior to them or the profession as a whole. With fading recollections or deliberate "miss remembering" they piss and moan about events that occurred decades ago - as if it holds any relevance today. They can politely get f*cked! No one cares about the ramblings of old men and their ancient history lessons, especially when the last 5 years under their leadership has been absolutely atrocious! My career has followed in their devastating wake for far too long. It's well past time a new generation takes control and pulls this profession out of the nose dive it is in.
And so I take a great deal of comfort reading all the vain, flailing posts of these textbook narcissists. Watching them contort in frustration as a demographic tsunami overcomes them is an ugly yet fitting finale. Good riddance!

Time to park the anger Kaffee. ACPA just died. It's rotting corpse was heaved into the dumpster at 12:00. I have a number you can call to help get over this time of anguish.Lt. Daniel Kaffee wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 8:43 am Maybe you should call Pilot Assistance...they can help people like you.
A word of advice. For your own professional good, stay out of our way if you choose not to assist us moving forward. We don't need anchors like you holding us under water.

It's been about 20 years of train wrecks and we don't need that history to be repeated by fan boys of the past.
Enjoy the summer as your peers do some heavy lifting for the profession that has paid for that Muskoka mansion

Has it ever occurred to you to evaluate why you believe the Air Canada pilots are incapable of acting like a real union. To do so will be a train wreck. Yes 2012 was a train wreck. But 1998 wasn’t. 2000 wasn’t. Unions all over this country stand up without becoming train wrecks all the time. Yet you believe we are incapable for some reason.Lt. Is it that you believe Air Canada pilots are incompetent or that Air Canada management is some sort of superpower that no one can stand up to? Maybe you think government is corrupt. The fix is in. They are in bed with company?
None of those perceptions are correct. Some may have happened at one point or another but they are not permanent obstacles. Governments change. Courts make rulings. Unions re-evaluate and regroup.
But for some reason ACPA was stuck in. We can’t. The membership just said well if you can’t? We will find someone who can.

Guys like Kaffee are Management hacks. Either that, or they are defeated, and dead weight moving forward. Both are traitors to the profession, traitors to unity. A liability. They thrive on lowering expectations so the "boat isn't rocked". One must wonder why they entered the profession in the first place if their goal was to "strip mine" the contract for their own benefit, and leave it lesser than when they found it. They have shown ZERO respect for the decades of professional dedication and sacrifice that former pilots from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's have done to create what they have done so much damage to in so little time. Our predecessors work is in tatters, and our infamous "group of 27" and their ilk are -fully responsible-.Fanblade wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2023 7:41 amHas it ever occurred to you to evaluate why you believe the Air Canada pilots are incapable of acting like a real union. There is no small number of shills and "defeated" senior pilots on this forum. There were at least 600 who voted in favor of ACPA's treasonous and concessionary performance over the last two decades, and are perfectly happy to remain at the bottom of the remuneration pile. BEWARE. Their goal is to suppress your drive for better, and convince you to accept that the "avalanche-like slide" of our wages and working conditions is normal and proper.
A comparator file will be released shortly making it crystal clear how far we have allowed our WACON to slide over the last 20 years and how far behind our Star Alliance partners we have fallen. It had better wake everyone up to the responsibility enshrined in the profession and the respect we owe to those who made this profession what it was over decades of sacrifice.
Our job is to right the ship, and get it back on course. Get ready to go to work to make that happen, or stay out of the way.

Sadly the 600 aren’t just senior pilots, a good portion of those are spread out across the seniority spectrum. I’ve flown with some.
