Flying for an other company on your days off
Hi,
Does Porter authorize flying for an other company on your days off (respecting your duties) ? I know that with new duties most of airlines does not authorize it, just wondering if there is still a company who does (I mean just fly 4-5 days a month as a contractual on a 703-704 company)
Thanks

They do not.
I've only been with Porter for about 6 weeks but when I was hired the documents I signed specifically prohibited any type of commercial flying for other companies.

In short yes. But it must be approved.
For those currently employed check out FOAG 4.3.10

..again…yes, it must be approved, it can’t be for a competitor, duty regs must be honoured and cannot infringe on on your ability to fly for Porter, including reserve callouts. In the past, many have especially used this to get their PIC or night hours for their ATPL. Others as a kind of hobby…flying jumpers, towing gliders, Hope air etc.

I know guys flying as instructor and contract for 703/704. As long as don't interference with your regular work, and get a approval from the CP
