WestJet damage done by management in these negotiations to pilots

Post by CanadaAir »

Damage done by management in these negotiations
The propaganda spread by the company to the public of greedy rich pilots is a harm.

If you read the comments online there's damage to pilots in the public opinion

Management failed the pilots, passengers & brand dragging this out.

This should all have occurred months in advance of the agreement expiring, without affecting passengers or stirring media propaganda

WestJet pilots mec, the volunteers & pilots were professional.

The management was dirty, putting out propaganda & vilifying WestJet pilots
The management degraded all Canadian pilots with their tactics & lies.

Whether to vote for this?

Either the CEO & VP Flight Ops apologize on the news media cameras for claiming the pilots are making $300,000 to $350,000 & “more than the PM”

Or

The contract shows all the captains are making $300,000 to $350,000 & “more than the PM”

Or suggest back to table

I agree he's lying and deceptive. However most of the comments are in favour of pilots from what I've seen online.

Tens of thousands of migrants go missing on sunken ships every year. I don’t think it makes someone sociopath to mock the media attention the 5 millionaires are getting, when millions of people are suffering and ignored. Paid by the clicks! All the attention on the event must show the majority of people are sociopaths excited to see wealthy people suffer, right?

It sucks what happened to them but they knew the risks getting into a homemade submersible and diving 13000’ below the surface.

I was kinda hoping the manifest was 1. Justin Trudeau 2. Klaus Schwab 3. George Soros 4. Bill Gates.

He wasn’t mocking the media attention, he used the situation to suggest a way to rid them of their management.
Do you routinely joke or see jokes about the migrants dying?
Is it possible that the people are genuinely worried for these people, a terrible way to go, slowly running out of oxygen at the bottom of the ocean.
If you lack empathy, you might be a sociopath.
I don’t make jokes about rich people or poor people who are fighting for their lives, it’s just sad that you can justify it!

It’s not sociopathic to joke about stupid decisions that lead to death. Have you ever heard of the Darwin Awards? Do you feel the same way for folks falling off cliffs for taking selfies? We make decisions in life. Some people make the wrong ones. These folks did unfortunately, but it doesn’t mean we can’t point that fact out.

To the above posters making jokes about the deaths of five individuals who had families and friends, you are deplorable wastes of skin. You are what’s WRONG with society today and the reason I hate people. There is no compassion, no respect, no kindness anymore, you are scum.
I’m not offended, I’m deeply and thoroughly disgusted by you!

No, I'm mocking the Westjet - ALPA relationship state, caused by Westjet management. The submarine event might be the subject of the joke, it's westjet management that's the butt of the joke.

And yes, I do routinely see jokes and memes about migrants dying, the holocaust, all kinds of horrors of humanity. It's a way of dealing with those things. To keep them in society's collective memory, without getting depressed when talking about it.

Nobody here is making fun of the deaths of the individuals. We're using recent event in a comedy setting to lighten the mood and process negative events. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_comedy

The irony is that by attempting to appear morally superior, you're actually achieving the complete opposite. You're the one calling people names.

Spin it how you want, imagine it was your loved one at the bottom of the ocean and while the hope was still alive, someone used that situation in a comedic setting to suggest getting rid of someone in the same manner, this is funny to you?
No empathy, I don’t know these people and I felt deeply for what they were going through and I don’t fucken joke about it.
Would you feel the same if someone suggested a bus trip to a casino for the method, I’m just trying to establish your level of anti social behaviour?
Maybe if society would stop making jokes about such things we could begin to become more compassionate and less desensitized to the horrors.
I seriously doubt any of the families of the holocaust or migrant drownings feel the way you do about the “humour” of it all.
I’m done with this and stand by my original thoughts, it’s disgusting!

But it wasn't, was it? By your logic no humor or comedy would ever be allowed. When thinking about it, if I was directly affected by these events, I'd probably joke about it as well. It's a way of processing things.

It would be bad form to tell those jokes to the people directly affected by them, but if you really want to, I believe you should be allowed to.

I think the link to the sub incident was much funnier due to it being a submersible, and that it was related to CEOs/rich people. The joke wouldn't have worked as good with a casino trip. But jokes about the casino incident could also be funny. Perhaps not in Dauphin, but I won't call people 'scum' or 'sociopaths' for joking about tragic events.

It’s in poor taste digits. Common man, people died ffs! If you think either event was funny in the slightest, I’ve no words to describe your callousness regardless of your wicked sense of humour.
