Cameron Air CYTZ

Post by marakii »

Any updates on working and pay conditions working for Cameron Air down at CYTZ?

How much time do they want to get on the 206?

Thanks

Does anyone have any info on this? Couldn't find any info on Cameron Air's pay or working conditions using the search function. Feel free to PM me instead if you'd prefer.

Thank you.

One of the owners is a convicted pedophile, so there's that.

Rent in Toronto will cost you 2000$ or more a month, and they expect you to work for peanuts.

There’s potential to get loads of hours once the float planes are going. I’ve seen three come into St. Catharines all at once, they certainly appear to be good at the game of how to look after the many available customers around Toronto. Only money talks here (it’s expensive equipment), and there you must be more-so wary of the wide range in personalities of passengers you will run into as well.

The destinations cover a wider area, so accomodation is not necessarily in the heart of the City when so many return trips are going elsewhere.

Another perk is you might get some investment tips from Kevin O'Leary, too, on the flight up to the lakes.

I worked there for two years and loved it. The flying is fun, you meet interesting people, and the planes are all in good shape. They have a very busy PC-12 now as well.

Last I heard, your compensation will be 35,000 / year.
You will have the opportunity to fly the right seat in the PC-12NG. And after about a year on the 206, you can go to the Caravan. And then after a year of that, you can be a dedicated PC-12 crew. Note that this info is from 2021, so some things may have changed. It's probably a decent place to build float time if you can afford it.
Cheers

They only require 7 hours. Minimum for float rating.

So if I apply at Cameron with 100 hours of my float time they might look at me? Doesn’t hurt to try

I made more than $35K on the 206 in 2020. It's only gone up since then, I still know people that work there. The job is fun, the planes are pretty good, and the flying is great.

How many float hours did you have when you were hired as I think they’re looking for 250 or 500 hours on floats due to their clientele. I applied with 100 hours on floats but haven’t heard back .

I had about 300 hours or so, if I remember right.
