Reserve is now open to bid for all pilots.
And yes 3 months of reserve and I’ve had a full block since. Bottom 10% (short call reserve) has DOH Oct 2022 in YYZ. It takes approx 3 months of training to the point of line check and eligible for reserve. Chances of getting long call are pretty slim right now since it is actually sought after by senior pilots and we are short FO’s. Company has plans to keep hiring for the foreseeable future so lots of movement should take place.

Although upgrade is 10 years today in YYZ that could change quickly with Swoop and Sunwing coming as well as 60 or so Max 8 and 10’s. Although we don’t know how many of these will replace older NG or will be additional.

This is aviation tho. Nothing is ever for sure. Just try and make the best personal decision for yourself and enjoy the ride.

How many days a month do you guys/girls average working. How often multi day pairings? How productive is the average day?

Really depends what you bid for.

I bid a very basic line. I like working multi-day pairings, and don't care where I go. And ask for the days off I want, and I get 95% of my days off every month on avarage.

I almost always work 3 four day trips per month and that's it.
2 four trips with one block of vacation and 1 four day trip with 2 blocks of Vacation.

I have never worked 16 days In a month in 10 years. I have worked a handful of times over 13 days a month in 10 years.

Some guys like specific destinations which are sometimes less efficient. Like 48 hours somewhere nice..or just longer layovers, easier flying. So you may work more days. I prefer to do high credit 28 credit hour 4 day trips.

I used to be YYC based. Always worked 3 four day trips a month with 24hrs in Hawaii on every trip in the winter months. Unless I asked for the 48hr Liberia layovers.

YVR was about 4 three day trips..or a couple of 2s and 2 four day tips. with 24hrs in either CUN or Hawaii.

and now YYZ I consistently work 3 four day trips, and still get 24hrs somewhere sunny or Westcoast almost every trip.

And i know of guys who consistently work single day pairings out of YYZ doing 8-9 days a month.

There's something for everyone as long as you don't ask for everything.

can anyone else share how schedule and QOL is with the new contract. days worked etc.

For the reduced and zero block, is that always available? Would it be reasonable to get 2 months unpaid off every year
