Slick magneto impulse coupling
We have had 1 mag fail and it took a tooth off the gear. All the new impulse couplings we are getting the rivets are coming loose within hours. The last one we pulled was 50 hours old. They have an SB 2-19A to inspect them and we are finding all new parts are horrible. Anyone else have this issue?

Go turbine. Problem solved plus your welcoming yourself to the 21st century. No more hills brothers coffee cans to empty into the lake.

Very helpful reply. What engine is this mag off? I know some guys in the piston world and could ask.

Came off IO-360. It's the 4300 and 6300 series mags. Ours was 4371 but a bunch use the same impulse couplings. The rivets get loose
Re: Slick magneto impulse coupling
I worked at a flight school with the same engine type and yes the newer mags were an issue. We were filing SDRs every time it happened. Wrote off a few engines because the rivet fell into the accessory case.
