When to come back to canada
Thanks to dual citizenship, I was lucky enough to come back to my home country and get flying on the 737. Before that I instructed in Canada until I hit the pic mins for my atpl. My end goal is to go back to Canada. Would I be able to hop straight onto the 737 in Canada? What would you guys consider to be the best career move for me?
Thank in advance!

The short answer is probably yes. Depending on how many hours you have it is very likely you could slide right into a 737 job.
The long answer, which seat? Because it's very likely going to be the right seat at year one pay because that's how it works here. Some operaterators have quicker upgrades than others but I wouldn't count on a DEC job.
I hope that is the information you are seeking.

Hi Mach, thanks so much for the input.
That's excellent as I didn't plan on staying here long enough to upgrade anyway. When should I start throwing out my resumes? And who would most likely hire me?

Get the Canadian ATPL back up and running if you haven't already done so, then I'd start sending resumes as soon as you want to move to Canada (since it sounds like you have the right to work here part of the puzzle in place).
A quick google search of operators and their various pay scales should do the trick on whom to send resumes. I think everyone is hiring right now.

Airlines are seniority based so the sooner you apply the better. A 5 minute search will show you the 737 operators. What a weird thread.

It certainly is - both avcanada1558 and Mach 1 joined this board on the same day - Mar 03. (only 18 years apart

We did?! I didn't even notice that... hilarious.

What country are you in that makes flying a 737 in Canada look attractive?

Re: When to come back to canada
Hi all,
I’m at around the 700 hours mark right now with 260 pic and 200 737 hours. So I wanted more clarification on when I should start applying, and if ATPL would be a requirement. Thanks in advance!

The short response is likely yes. Contingent upon how long you have it is logical you could slide directly into a 737 work.
The long response, which seat? Since it's probably going to be the right seat at year one compensation since that is the way it works here. Some operaterators have speedier updates than others however I wouldn't depend on a DEC work.

And, this thread gets weirder. 2 different accounts created almost 20 years apart say almost the exact same thing word-for-word, with just a few subtle wording changes.
This is a bizarre thread.

Better to use AI now to keep post counts up for ad revenue than manually typing them out. It's been obvious for years that there is some fluffing going on. Is what is. Guy makes money from the forum.

AI can't figure out spellcheck. "operaterators"
