Journeyman AME
Bit slow on the maintenance site so how about the Journeyman title when looking for an AME. I know trades are first second year etc then you get a Journeyman ticket. AME also first year etc apprentice then you get your AME licence. But I've not heard the Journeyman title used with the licenced AME. Is it a regional thing? What are your thoughts.

Never heard "Journeyman" used regarding AMEs.
Just "Apprentice" until they're licensed.

Re: Journeyman AME
To add to this it would be Red Seal Journeyman as trade tickets are Provincial and Red Seal is Canada wide like an AME licence. Not sure about PQ? Does Red Seal apply there?
Re: Journeyman AME
Short answer is that it is a very small industry that crosses a lot of provincial borders so it would add a lot of expensive bureaucracy to aviation. No advantage for anyone that I can see. The point of the red seal program was to allow trades to easily move and work in other provinces which we can already do.

These ads just show you that the HR departments, or whoever is doing the hiring, knows absolutely nothing about maintenance requirements.
Re: Journeyman AME
It’s Journey person. That HR peon should be flogged for that plus pronouns are missing. Are these HR people who were non-existent thankfully in my day need to at least KNOW what an airplane looks like fff. Embarrassing to read these ads over and over with crazy descriptions, lack of remuneration etc. Are ads signed off on by management? I don’t know it’s just bad.
