Generally speaking the landlords near colleges are scummier than the ones near universities. You can look for sublets where people let for 4-8 months at a time, usually beginning on January, May, and September. In the event you get CTd this would also limit the financial aspect of being binded to a year+ lease (and keep in mind you would be out of salary too).
Huh?! Are you saying that NAV Canada doesn’t provide lodging/barracks for you when you go on training, and you’ll be forced to find your own way to live in Toronto on a $49k salary for up to 2 years?? I really hope that’s not what you’re saying.
You can always go the military route then

Know you meant it as tongue in cheek and I'm not who you replied to however I did check out the military ATC route coincidently. After speaking with a recruiter in person, the non commissioned officer role is 3 or 4 year commitment after training, commissioned ATC officer requires degree in relevant field and the same 3/4 year commitment. Making, not so much better than the $49k as enlisted, being posted in some barracks out in the middle of nowhere town. And get this, the qualifications you get Is not the same license as Navcanada's. Meaning you might be able to do the job but Navcanada might not hire you once you are done. $49k in Toronto doesn't sound so bad after all

Haha exactly. You also missed that getting trained takes another 5 years probably allowing you to enjoy that 2LT pay for longer 😄
