Re: Encore
First, yes, apply elsewhere. When it comes to your first 705 job, the first job you get is the best job to take.
You should have received one of those automated "thank you for applying" emails. Since there is a shortage of captains and a surplus of first officers, I don't expect you to receive the quickest of replies, but you should get a rejection or hopefully an interview within 3 months of applying.
Re: Encore
Thank you.I am not expecting any response from encore anytime soon but I had applied at jazz as well and did the hirevue questionaire on Jan 6 but no response from jazz until now for an interview.seems like things are slow their too.
Re: Encore
Maybe your poor grammar and spelling raised a red flag at both places??!!

Re: Encore
Grammar doesn't indicate the ability to fly airplanes as per the company material... it only indicates your grammar skills.

Re: Encore
I think most people take a little more time on their resumes than typing up an avcanada post. So telling someone they won’t get a job because of bad grammar on an aviation forum is nothing but troll fodder.

Re: Encore
Nice comeback to avcanada after 6 years of zero posts. Sort your life out.
Re: Encore
Agreed. It is overkill. He is probably using spelling and grammar checks on his Microsoft word resume anyway.CaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 11:42 am I think most people take a little more time on their resumes than typing up an avcanada post. Re: Encore
Likely true. However, I think posts can be a good indication as to what your 'default' writing style is. If you don't care about spelling or grammar, can't use a capital letter or proper punctuation as a standard writing style, then it will likely show in other spots. Perhaps not on your first application on your resume, but what happens in subsequent conversational emails where you're defaulting to your autopilot writing style?CaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 11:42 am I think most people take a little more time on their resumes than typing up an avcanada post. It could be a (strong?) indication of sloppiness. That might be a wrong assessment, but appearances are all that matter in the first stages of a selection process. Especially if other objective factors (flight hours) might not put you at the top of the pile.
As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

No, the staff with poor grammar and typing skills are given charge of our document control.

Must be impressive applicants as me an applicant with thousands of hours of PIC King Air experience received the thanks for applying email and other candidates have been selected.

At this point, I’m pretty sure all airlines are looking for your resume with 6000 TT mostly king air pic and putting in their fancy new paper shredder. Go drive a school bus, it’s the closest you’ll get to the airlinesHappyflyer78 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 11:01 am Must be impressive applicants as me an applicant with thousands of hours of PIC King Air experience received the thanks for applying email and other candidates have been selected.
