No Reserve B for Captains?

I've been looking through the YYZ CRJ bidpacs and I've noticed that since November '23, there hasn't been any planned Reserve B for Captains. This trend has continued every month including the bidpac for March '24. I dug up the old bidpacs for the corresponding months in late '22 & early '23 and noticed that they all had planned Reserve B for Captains.

Am I correct in assuming that this is due to the shortage of Captains on the RJ out of YYZ? Also, do you see this trend continuing into the summer, or will we see a return of RSB?

Res B is only to cover CDOs. If there are no (or very few) CDOs, no RES B will be planned.

So to answer your question, RES B this summer depends on how the pairings will be constructed and it only takes 1 CDO running all month in the BIDPAC and you will see RES B.
