The end of Flair?
I have been unable to book on Flair’s website since yesterday. Have they shut it down or is this technical difficulties?

Re: The end of Flair?
I can select flights and when I select next, I get the service interruption message, as of right now, an entire weekend and no announcement from the company. Ineptitude or something else going on?

Re: The end of Flair?
Check the Flair forum....this has been going on for nearly 48 hrs and not a peep from Flair. Its not rocket science.
I think its time for Mr Jones's own words again....
“At some point there will be some form of reckoning, whether it’s a restructure or whatever.”

Re: The end of Flair?
The company is aware that there is a problem with online payments but isn't saying much other than the fact that they are working on it and should have things up and running by the end of today. There's been a few email about it throughout the weekend.
Re: The end of Flair?
Of course they are aware of it, there are in dire financial distress and it is now caught up. Day 3 of no bookings means that Flair has lost millions in future bookings.

Re: The end of Flair?
Sorry to say it but Flair is done. I wish the best for the pilots there, and although the writing has been on the wall for a while it is still a huge blow for everyone affected.
It will now be a matter of days as creditors begin to withdraw and demand payment for money owed. The company will of course play the ‘IT issue, business as usual’ card for as long as they can but the timer is running out. There is zero chance the airline will be paying their CRA bill on April 1st so I’d say we’ll hear something official by then if we haven’t already.

Re: The end of Flair?
They still have planes in the air, so they're still paying fuelers, lessors, etc.
This is a major dispute with their e-commerce provider, likely due to the $25m bond requirement.
The fact that they're still operating means they aren't at rock bottom yet, and likely believe they have a solution but it's taking a while to rearrange the cards.
The fact they haven't made any statement at all is very dubious however, and a total PR failure, as well as unfair to the employees by lying that it's a laughable technical glitch. I'm actually a little surprised as SJ is always upfront and more than willing to speak with media. I would have expected a Monday noon statement as per standard business practices.
Very suspicious, and I have no answers to why they'd be so secretive about it instead of simply issuing some kind of boilerplate statement that doesn't have to say anything, unless they're waiting on some sort of Hail Mary.

Re: The end of Flair?
The only logical explanation is that they haven't found a new payment provider yet.
As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Re: The end of Flair?
Probably haven’t found one willing to forward funds right away and not hold them back

The latest post from Cpn is yet another rehash of the same story being circulated and recirculated over and over since November. Give it a rest, F8 owes the CRA money and has entered into an agreement to repay it. They either will or they won't.CpnCrunch wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 3:06 pm https://globalnews.ca/news/10382735/fla ... stem-down/

The payment thing has a solution being rolled out, business as usual, and doom and gloom from the avcan peanut gallery as usual. Flair is done any day now...any day now...any day now... do you guys ever get sick of repeating this to us over and over again? 5 years you've been on this soap box...

Website redirects to expedia now.
Flights are sold as "World Ticket 1544" operated by Flair.
Pretty janky at best.
WorldTicket (W1) was founded in 2002 and it's a virtual airline that is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. They also have offices in four other countries including China, Thailand, Poland and Ukraine. WorldTicket's role is to help its customer airlines to reach a wider customer network worldwide, therefore, the flights that are sold via their platforms are codeshared with the operating airline. To expand its operations and reach out to more customers, the company acquired FlexFlight (W2) in 2011

Re: The end of Flair?
WorldTicket (WT) was founded in 2002 and is a global provider of information technology and software to airlines.[1] In May 2022, it was announced that WorldTicket had been acquired by 777 Partners, a Miami-based private investment company.[2]
Re: The end of Flair?
Isn’t that interesting, I wonder if they will hold any revenue back for consumer protection?
I wonder if this is a temporary bandaid solution, does this satisfy the CTA licencing requirements?

Re: The end of Flair?
I can appreciate you sharing the same loyalty and defence to Flair as I did in my tenure there. However even I'm starting to express concern of my own with all the hiccups, headlines and mismanagement. Yes, I agree many on here form a peanut gallery and haters gonna hate etc, but you have to admit there are a lot of concerning signs going on here. When passengers cannot book for multiple days, it is certainly NOT business as usual.co-joe wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 3:38 pmThe latest post from Cpn is yet another rehash of the same story being circulated and recirculated over and over since November. I sincerely hope Flair survives, not just for the employees, but for the travelling public. It is a great service and we certainly need it.

The “glitches” are frequent and not conducive to a successful outcome. How many people will think twice about booking with Flair due to these problems.
Anyhow, good luck to the Flair employees, I hope you bounce back

Re: The end of Flair?
Website seems to work fine now. No "worldticket" redirect.
I think Flair used Worldticket before they expanded and had the 777 investment.

Re: The end of Flair?
More than 14 000 people didn't think twice about buying tickets on Flair once the online payment thing was sorted out. Nearly a one day record for us.cdnavater wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 8:10 pm

We're doing something right here folks, bringing affordable air travel to Canadians. cdnavater and the rest of the WS fan bois are threatened. They are running scared to their keyboards to spout drivel online about us, because that's all they have.
