Been to North eluthera a couple times but didn't stay so I can't help you on that front. It's a bit of a hike to get to any accommodations and you have to take a boat across a channel to get to any accommodations. The airport is reasonably busy and departures can be delayed a bit if you are unlucky to arrive at a bad time. No taxiways and a decent.t amount of jets so that makes departure timing a bit harder if it's busy.
Handler is pretty good but not cheap and there isn't a ton of parking available on the ramp and no hangar space that I saw. I saw a guy come in with a 150 and I think he paid 100 bucks just in fees.

Sadly on the islands… what?!? Only 100$? That’s a typo right?

Thanks Khedrei!
Good stuff to know and be aware of.
My research looks like Plane, taxi, water taxi, taxi to get to accommodations, but I don't care about the costs as the client doesn't lol!
Stopping at a nearby island first and then a 10 minute VFR hop over to Eleuthera.
When were you there last and what was the runway condition like?

Re: Bahamas
2023.
No issues with the runway whatsoever. (TBM) What type of aircraft are you flying into there in?
The only FBO on the field at the time was Odyssey. All in all, good (island time man!) service there.
I’d suggest calling them and getting the latest “skinny”.
Take care,
TPC

Re: Bahamas
Was just a couple months ago. Runway was ok. Not US standards ok, but it was fine. Airlines down to 150s I saw there. No problems in that regard.
Like TPC said, give the FBO a call just to arrange everything in advance. I'd say service there was among the better of the islands. No bribes needed.
100$ in fees to stop for an hour and buy gas seems a bit excessive for a 150. But I've never been there in a small plane before so perhaps it's par for the course.

Re: Bahamas
I’ve flown a Citation into Eleuthera probably 10-15 times this year already. Incredible island. Flying into Eleuthera is easy, usually we land at Governor’s Harbour but it’s all the same. We try and cancel the IFR pretty early if possible as the non radar flying can be a bit annoying. North Eleuthera is pretty busy, 150’s up to e175’s as previous commenters have stated.
Odyssey Aviation doesn’t do any work in North Eleuthera anymore, only in Governor’s Harbour and Rock Sound, your best bet is probably White Crown in North Eleuthera. As far as accommodations go you’ll have to hop over to Harbour Island most likely. That’ll be a taxi to the pier, a $5 usd boat taxi over to the island and then wherever you book will either pick you up at the pier or you can rent a golf cart. $50 USD a day for the golf carts. Bring USD cash with you. Harbour island is a fantastic island, best beach in the world. The Dunmore is an absolutely fantastic restaurant/boutique hotel, very expensive rooms though (at least during the busy season). If you choose to stay on Eleuthera instead of Harbour Island you will 1000% need a rental car, do no expect to find taxis ever. There are no chain hotels, Marriott has a property in Governor’s Harbour called the French Leaves Resort. Villa’s are around $1500 USD a night in the busy season. 1648 is the restaurant there, fantastic spot. If you stay in Governor’s Harbour you’ll have to go to Tippy’s as well. If you’re there for awhile Buccaneer Club and La Bougainvillea are also great restaurants around Gov harbour. Also the friday fish fry downtown Gov’s harbour is just the best, get a Rum baba or two. Eleuthera is incredible, enjoy the stay.

Re: Bahamas
Thanks Heavy Rayne also good info.
Flying in a Citation too so easy peasy! Stopping at MYBC first for a drop off and then I’ll just good old uncontrolled VF and R over to MYEH
But that was going to be my next question about ATC, and what I was thinking of doing so you answered that question.
We are staying at a place close to MYEH at a reasonable price and it had good reviews.
Thanks again for all the tips!

One more question for Heavy.
Picking up an IFR clearance from here is it through Nassau Radio on 128.0? Can we get them on the ground?

Re: Bahamas
Nassau always just hands us off to Miami, freq is along the lines of 125.7 for Miami I think. Whatever the Miami freq that you cancel with going in is the same one we use to pick up IFR on the way out. We usually grab the IFR around 5000’ but have done it as late as 16500’. I believe in Governor’s Harbour you can get Nassau on 128.0 on the ground but not sure about North Eleuthera.
