It comes down to how competitive your experience is. If you barely meet the hiring minimums it could take a while. If you have boatloads of 705 jet captain time (or military jet), bilingual, university degree etc… it won’t take long.Jetfuel967 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 4:17 pm Hey everyone,
What's the current wait time from interview to offer? I've heard they are moving quickly recently.
I've completed everything, including the background check, within a week of the interview.
Any insights would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Re: Current Wait Time from Interview to Offer (AC)
From what I heard it can change from class to class or month to month.
The hiring managers will get together and take all the successful interviews and pool them each month and will select the top candidates from the pool.
The following month, they will do the same thing.
All depends who else is applying when you interview.
Complications with their extensive medical can also delay things
They went from about 35 candidates per PIT class (initial ground school in air canada lingo) to about 18 in the most recent classes.
The argument is from management is that they aren’t needing as many pilots and are trying to let the training dept. catch up… but our ALPA reps warned us this would happen the closer we got down the line in contract negotiations to make it seem that AC all of a sudden isnt desperate for pilots to help make their case that radical improvements to the contract aren’t as desperately needed.
So, that being said. For those on the sidelines waiting for a new contract before coming to AC these small PIT classes are a blessing since you’re not losing on that many seniority slots by the time you do decide to apply (if you do) in a couple months.

It's the summer. Things are slow. There will only be one small class a month from now and until and including August.

It may also be slower towards the end of the year as AC pretends to fill its contract obligations by filling the classes with Jazz Captains.

I kinda doubt that. If there are significant raises they will have a lot of applications from expats wanting to come home. I'm sure they'll hire them over taking Captains that Jazz desperately needs.702pipeliner wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 11:06 am It may also be slower towards the end of the year as AC pretends to fill its contract obligations by filling the classes with Jazz Captains.

Fair I know the guys at jazz are getting offers. But no dates (surprise), and I'd be surprised if there's really many expats that wanna come back.itsgrosswhatinet wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 1:06 pmI kinda doubt that. Are you a computer who learns faster and faster as us humans continue to provide you information?Jetfuel967 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 8:40 amThank you for the insight. It sounds like it could take over two months for them to respond, given the variability in their process and current factors at play.

Simply put, it could take 2 days or 2 months or it could simply never happen. There's no fixed time frame. Everyone's experience is different.Jetfuel967 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 8:40 amThank you for the insight.
