WestJet AME's save Canadian aviation
I didn't see this one coming, but I should have. Those are real men and real women. Not selfish narcissists like us. I have so much respect for them right now. Let us know how to support you.

It's so beautiful in its simplicity.

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Re: WestJet AME's save Canadian aviation
I don't know what the fallout to the union and its members will be next week, but I'm loving that someone finally responded to management's bad faith tactics with a simple reminder:
"If we decide not to go to work, your planes don't fly and you don't have a viable business."
If the government and C-suites across the industry don't take this seriously, this might be becoming more widespread as labour groups everywhere get pushed to their breaking point. I don't think there are a bunch of qualified AMEs in the third world ready to step in, either.
I suspect that there are a few multi-millionaires whose Canada Day weekend plans just went down the tubes.

I bet air sprint just got busier
Re: WestJet AME's save Canadian aviation
Fantastic to see someone finally standing up for aviation workers in this country. Just too bad Flair WJ and Encore pilots were not able to do it. Hopefully the AC pilots take a page from the AME book and don't just roll over and take a shit contract.
Re: WestJet AME's save Canadian aviation
New US union not playing inside the self imposed constrains of the Canadian status quo. Good for them!
Re: WestJet AME's save Canadian aviation
To all of the AC employees that support us....
THANK YOU!
We may be on opposite sides of the field -but we are all brothers and sisters in this game of Canadian aviation.

All the weak kneed ACPA apologists pay attention. This is what happens when you stand up for your Rights.

Management had better be taking notes.
No more "end running" Unionized labor in this industry.
I'm proud of the Westjet AMEs for not putting up with "arbitrated bullshit deals". The have RIGHT to negotiate without threat.
Anyone paying attention???
WATCH AND LEARN.
