For those posting what could easily be considered threats or making posts that are clearly in direct opposition to social media policy, if you are actually a pilot at mainline then you might want to reconsider your postings. If you don't think that cooperate security is watching this then you are delusional or ignorant or both. In this time of unrest and change they are looking for exactly these types of things and if they want to find you bad enough they will. Hopefully those that have posted the really foolish things are either a troll or have an untraceable vpn.
There will be hangings.
Good luck to you.

From a user who joined last Thursday. Shove it…YOUR THREATS will not scare the masses from holding the line. Good luck running an airline without pilots. Management shill…

Just flew from YUL the other day, was good to see the amount of red lanyards in the terminal. Ignore the FUD shills.

I know it's a shit airline run by idiots, but didn't realize it had sociopaths roaming AvCanada threatening harm to its employees.
Yikes

Does that social media policy apply to you as well?
As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

This needs to be addressed. You are using a "direct threat" to intimidate free thought and speech.
The objective of this thread was to raise "awareness" that potential "bully tactics" or other subversive methods that MAY be used by the other side of the table.
No one here is disparaging our employer. There will be no "hangings" so long as people understand that the "enemy" is not their employer. They are a business. It is their --job-- to maximize the "dollar value" of the tools used to accomplish the "task". They have been effective in the deployment of the specific "tool" known as the pilot group, for decades. Very good for them, as that is simply good business.
The "beef" lies with the "negotiators", and their use of tactics to "union bust" or otherwise create uncertainty or divide. The irony is that those "negotiators" also hold a position on our seniority list in many instances. The negotiators need to know that ACPA is dead and gone. The old tactics that were once very effective in negotiating against us are dead and gone as well. They are trying them anyway.
Our job is to remain focused on achieving a World Class Contract, and ignore any negativity coming from a variety of sources; the negotiating team themselves, the media and posters on this forum.
The company "cupboard" is "full". They --can absolutely afford-- to compensate us on par with our American collegues, and allow for improvements in our working conditions. Their objective is to convince us that they can not, or will not.
It is our JOB to convince them that they have made an error in assessing our resolve. Do not budge. Be prepared to do what your union leadership asks of you. EVERYTHING. It will ALL be legal and within --your rights-- under the Canada Labour Code. Deviate off the guidance of the MEC at your peril, and your families peril.
Everything you do, or don't do between NOW and when a contract is voted for, will have a serious downline impact on your lifestyle, and your economic security going forward for the rest of your career.
Remember contract gains or losses are cumulative over the life of your employment.
The 17th of September is less than 2 months away. Be ready, no excuses. You have a duty. You owe it to yourself, your family and every other pilot you work with. We are all counting on you.

Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
This is starting to get very real.
Charlene has been given the unanimous authorization of the MEC to call for a strike vote at any time. The other side of the table is not taking your need to be compensated in a similar fashion to your direct peers very seriously. They themselves are using Delta, United, and American as a direct comparison to their own compensation package, but you are not allowed.
Be prepared to answer her call to action. Your collegues are counting on YOU to do your part.

The deal would have been all done last year if everyone flew only their blocks and followed the contract.
For those company-men still making it work for the executives trying to pay us status quo while they take record bonuses, it's not too late to get on the right side here.
What we do now defines our outcome and will help us get this done quickly. Every one of us needs to put the pressure on and send a message.
What a great time to enjoy your family and friends and turn your ringer off. Come back when this company gets serious about paying us and treating us what we're worth.
Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
That’s also how the Americans do it with great success. When it’s time, it’s all hands on deck down there. Even the boomers at the top scale put on the braking brake on the OT. I’d love to see such unity here as well.altiplano wrote:

Free speech is not absolute.
The quote below is more than just "disparaging". It is somewhat unhinged and reads as if it was directed at the employer.

Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
You think that was a "literal" comment. I don't. Remember when Calin R. said..."nothing like a hanging in the morning to get ones attention..." or something very similar. Pretty sure no one got "hanged".25twolife wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 6:44 amI have threatened anyone. There are a lot of pilots frustrated with the disregard we have been shown during this process. Some have strong feelings. I don't blame them one bit. Those shown the door during the Covid debacle might have a "bit of a chip" on their shoulder. Those 3-4 year pilots offered a wage improvement during the MOA failure of 2023, only to have it retracted, might have a "chip" as well.
The rest of us are just sick and tired of watching the waste spent on hundreds of useless Managers, those clipboard warriors trying to look "relevent", while the "real producers" had their B1's stripped away. Tired of "giving" with zero consideration. Tired of living in the most expensive cities on the planet eating "shrinkflation sized" boxes of Kraft dinner so the rest of the bills can be paid.
I get it 100%. But literal translations of comments made by clearly frustrated individuals is just silly. Management makes "similar dramatic comments" that no one takes too seriously.

After the Air Canada pilot strike, Canadians need to go on strike for their corrupt government. No point in fighting for an income when the biggest beneficiary is the government. What right do they have to our labor?
Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
No, I don't think its literal. However I am not HR of a multi billion dollar company that takes their public image very seriously. If I was and one of my employees, especially a pilot, was saying things like blueontop then I probably wouldn't care what the intent was.RippleRock wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 8:39 am

BTW "hanging" is a reference to a infamous quote from a former executive who was using it as a metaphor.

You seriously think AC is capable of “tracking down” VPN’s just to “hang” a poster from THIS site? Holy moly
Seriously… I almost spit my drink out when I read your first post! Does AC even know what a VPN is?

Many years ago, on another forum, there was discussion among some maintenance workers that was disparaging to the company, and tinged with rhetoric promoting job action, considered illegal job action at the time. The company had their lawyers go after the site administrators for IP addresses etc, and some employees were overtly threatened not only with termination, but forfeit of pension etc. Your kidding yourself if you don't think they take it extremely seriously, especially in the public domain.

For one if you work for Jazz do NOT do any voluntary overtime, especially if it’s a mainline route like YYZ-YWG. Not that Jazz has any extra capacity these days.goingnowherefast wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 3:39 am I'm not an AC pilot, but fully appreciate what's going on. What can I do to support?
