Hopium is a hell of a drug.
My favourite rumour back in the days was how Jazz was going to get all the AC Cseries deliveries

Even if AC owned 100% of jazz it wouldn’t merge operations.

That wouldn’t happen either, but if this merger does happen and you attempt a BOTL petition, I think you might find yourself sorely disappointed.

Nothing is happening until at least January as the first order of business is to sell the regional leasing division, after that it would actually make sense for Air Canada to buy Jazz and it also makes sense for them to merge in in the main operation this time around.
With the demand for qualified Captains increasing and the supply decreasing, the cost will go up, obviously the CPA model no longer makes sense but they are stuck with it unless they buy it.
All I want for Christmas this year is this, my 20 year seniority bumping man in the sky of his high horse!

It's interesting to hypothesize about. Someone who's flown nothing but Twin Otter's, Dash-8s and Q400s their entire 40 year career suddenly has the seniority for decently high up the 777 captain list.

I'd imagine some fences would be put up. Even if only to protect the old deHavilland pilots from an environment that they have ZERO experience.

I think you guys need to do some reading on how seniority lists are merged.

I think Westjet pilots need to do some reading, because it sounds like you guys are about to get schooled... DOH with Sunwing is not what is going to happen.

They wouldn’t have the requirement to even hold WB FO! C

A lot of the Jazz F/Os I trained recently are going to AC as wide body F/O with a little over 2000 hours. What qualifications are we missing?

And you are a moron but the best part, you’ll be junior to me and I would qualify for widebody. Better get some fences with that merger, things are going to be quite interesting in the new year.
I can’t imagine being moron-in-the-sky right now, he’s going to drop a 1000 numbers easily, looking forward to that!

You know what I don’t miss, flying with self entitled pilots like yourself, you are a worried little baby who would have pilots who have been with the same company for 20-40 years go to the BOTL.
You are part of the problem and why I enjoy antagonizing you! I’ll make sure and remind you every chance I get how I’m still senior to you, just you though.
Realistic expectations can be met will a civil discussion, idiotic comments like BOTL, gets treated with the disdain it deserves

You are senior to me in a list that doesn’t exist!

Off course you are senior on your list, you elected to stay at Jazz while some of us elected to go somewhere else.
Fair enough.
But don’t expect a q400 qualified captain to merge and obtain a 777 CA spot, that would be naive from someone that has been that long in aviation!

I’m not sure, do you think I’m a Q pilot, you keep mentioning that no Q pilot will get 777 CA spot, I have thousands upon thousands of jet time and have actually never flown the Q.
Next, I’m sure there is more than .1 % who thinks your notion of BOTL is ridiculous in this hypothetical scenario but I actually don’t have any preconceived ideas about what and where I or the other 300 pilots with greater than 20 years will end up.
I can certainly guarantee one thing, if a guy has been flying the Q for the last 10 years, he’s not likely going to bid left seat triple or any widebody even if he could hold it, only you young bucks think the world owes you even when your capabilities don’t support it.
I also really quite enjoy pissing you off, you’re a friggen idiot through and through, so it is my pleasure and if this merger scenario plays out, you can bet your last dollar, I’ll be here to rub it in your smug face when you realize I was right!

Picher award was merged with only the furloughed AC guys at the time.and then stapled BOTL and the Air Ontario guys went all the way to the SCOC for it and still lost.

And you think you're going to roll in as a 777 CA? Talk about smug.

That was never a true merger of operations. And that is 30 years ago.

Not a single person thinks it would be DOH. But it won't be BOTL either. Anyone who believes it would be BOTL is as delusional as those thinking it would be DOH.

I’ve never once said the words that I think I’ll be a 777 skipper and in fact I wouldn’t do it because I can’t stand the thought of long haul, money is not that important to me, I would prefer to just stay on my RJ until retirement.
It’s moron-in-the-sky who keeps beaking off about Q captains going left seat triple, to which I quite enjoy antagonizing him!
As for what truedude said, anyone who thinks it would be BOTL or DOH is delusional is exactly correct!
