Also, you can always tell them that you did that for medical purposes only. You had back pains or some anxiety issues and had to go to Best Oklahoma dispensaries to get some help.

Yeah that will get you the job for sure.

Back in the day, I was a bit of an adventurous soul myself. Tried a few things, but like you, it was just a phase. Life moves on, right? From what I've gathered, as long as you've left that stuff in the past and can show that you've grown, companies like Air Canada and Westjet might be cool with it. As for polygraph tests, I've heard mixed things, but they might focus more on recent behavior. Who knows, by the time you apply, policies might change.

HI!

Airlines like Air Canada and WestJet focus more on your recent history rather than things you did years ago. They usually conduct background checks and drug tests, but polygraph tests aren't commonly used for these applications.

As for staying balanced, I’ve been using the RAZ 25000 vape, which helps me manage stress and stay focused.

No you haven't. You have never done drugs.

I suspect I'm an not the only Air Canada hopeful that has used some from of drug in the past.
You still have never done drugs ever.

No, they do not use lie detectors.

Yep, it’s not like they talk to your high school buddies and ask if they ever saw you smoking pot, etc.
Just don’t offer up one of them as your reference, lol, honestly just take the advice above, I don’t remember being asked this, I did the pre employment drug test and passed but if I was asked it would have been a big fat old no.
Make sure there are no photos of you on any social media being even associated with drug use, I can’t be tagged in anything myself because I don’t have a social media account but make no mistake, they have someone combing through these types of accounts

Wait what? The company pays someone to look through employees social accounts? And you can confirm this?

Not really sure how I can prove it to you, it’s common practice these days for most big employers.
How about our recent memo about COM violation for video during critical phase of flight being posted on social media, special mention about the unapproved devices being fixed to the aircraft.

Thanks for that. That does make sense :)

Don’t attach GoPros to the windows lol.

But ya I get it. Posting shit online frankly attracts attention. The goal is to fly UNDER the radar.

Fairly standard part of any screening at most companies these days.

Nothing difficult about putting a name into a search engine and hitting "enter" - jmho.

It continues to amaze me how some people put their entire lives online.

I posted a few photos on facebook in 2020 and was contacted by my company with a request to remove them.

Some companies are very sensitive about their image.

For polygraph tests, it's not something airlines in Canada usually do. They care more about what you’ve been up to recently. If you’ve been clean for a while, that’s what really counts.
I think it’s great that you’ve stopped using marijuana and other substances, especially if you’re planning a career with a lot of responsibility. A buddy of mine found that using things like bubblers helped them cut down on smoking gradually, rather than just stopping all at once.
