Aviation medical

Post by jordan26 »

Not sure if this is the correct category but I’m currently doing my PPL rn and I got my medical done on July 23rd. Haven’t heard back since so I followed up today and they immediately replied with an email responding with: “Good day, Jordan,

Thank you for contacting Transport Canada.

Transport Canada has received your application for an aviation medical certificate. It has been forwarded to our team expert for further review. You will be contacted if any further action or information is needed from you.

Again, thank you for writing.”

What exactly does this mean, is this just an excuse for not getting to it yet or should I be concerned?

No worries for concern. That's their default reply when you inquire about the status, but they don't have any updates yet. The service standard is 40 business days so if you did it July 23, expect to hear back by September 18. But it may take a week or two extra. Good luck!
