Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
I’ll go with
95k year 1
125 year 2
85k is Porter wages. Duncan Dee said AC pilots will be the best paid pilots in Canada.
Can’t wait to see the numbers !

Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
Better be a World Class Contract or I’m sure it will be back the drawing board for them. 4 years is longer than I expected but it gives the company some stability.
Hope it truly recognizes the pilots worth and fixes QOL issues.

Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
That means absolutely nothing. They can get WJ + 5% and be best paid pilots in Canada … and the lowest paid WB FOs worldwide …kiaszceski wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 10:25 pm . Duncan Dee said AC pilots will be the best paid pilots in Canada.
Seems like the goalpost shifted in the last couple of days

It’s all so tiresome …Well if it's like anything else that happened in the last couple of years, they'll get a 95%+ strike vote. Then at 5 to midnight, they'll have a TA that will be pretty much WJ scale +5-10% and then the excuses and road shows will start with
We had to secure the work [..]fleet growth equate quicker upgrades [..] extra days off and increase vacation, benefits, LTD, pension [..]incredible gains if you compare to 2013 [..] tough competition [..] hard economic reality of Canada [..] look at the signature bonus and back pay [..] flat pay is gone [..] still best paid pilots in Canada [..] we got WAY WAY more than if we stayed with ACPA [....] and we had to secure xyz this time but next contract we'll really go for big money, you'll see.

Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
Starting pay $87.48?! That's what, 78k?
Why would ALPA even show this to the pilots? This is an absolute joke. DISGUSTING. Strike (temporarily) averted, and I'm sure the execs are popping the champaign right now.
This CANNOT be approved by the pilots. Stay strong. Know your worth.

It’s a horrific TA. Will be a resounding no from me. All is lost for Canadian aviation if this passes.
Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
Hey I'm not a pilot but I've been following you guys for quite some time now. Can anyone send a screenshot of what they agreed on?
Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
Another easy No vote...
I can't believe it. Too scared to take a swing.

Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
For those experienced pilots standing on the sidelines, this new TA will not attract talent from outside. Those numbers would have to come up another 40% minimum. 46% raise ain’t the 90%+ the pilots were looking for..for the love of god, please vote no, you can do much better. Now is the time..

All bark no bite. The biggest embarrassment in the history of Canadian aviation.

Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
I wonder if the government was in the room saying to accept this, or it's what will be forced in arbitration.
If it does get voted down, I hope it's by a wider margin than Encore's no vote. Weak no vote means weak message and minimal changes.

Hey, at least that 777 captain can dream about his extra boat he can now buy while napping on the way to India while his RP watching over the plane is thinking about the boats he has to clean on his second job in order to afford to live in YYZ.

Remember when I was called a troll for stating that ALPA is going to cave and only get you a starting salary of 75-85k?
Welcome to ALPA.

Pepperidge farm remembers. But seriously, count me in the I thought it would be different this time camp. I'm sorry to all the Junior AC pilots that this TA hurts the most. Another disappointing chapter in Canadian Aviation is about to begin.dontcallmeshirley wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 6:50 am Remember when I was called a troll for stating that ALPA is going to cave and only get you a starting salary of 75-85k?

This hurts every canadian pilot (except the ones who should be retiring soon anyway).2112 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 7:42 amPepperidge farm remembers. Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
And yet AC will still get piles of resumes. And all those who said they will quit if there is no WCC won't....
Re: It is imminent.......be ready.
The competition has attempted to pay more and staff up prior to this, thinking we would cause an earthquake when the contract came out. Now they wont have to care anymore because AC didn't raise the bar. No improvements across the industry for anyone else since AC set the gold standard. There will be no major shift of seats in Canada. No panic to pay up for experience. Same crap.
This was the chance we needed. WestJet failed, Air Canada bombed. Everyone loses. But hey, I'm happy for the boomers-life has never been fair to them eh

Appears your MEC defence had a wide open net to win the game and rang their only shot off the crossbar. Now I have no buns in this issue for obvious reasons and really isn’t any of my business, however I do understand politics and Political Science 1000- you will set yourself up for binding arbitration should this agreement not be ratified. You will get no support from the political entity writ large. From what I read here and in MSM, AC pilots especially on the jr end deserved much better.
Best of luck going forward.

Unfortunately, jurisprudence is that a previously accepted AIP (thus becoming a TA) is often the forced outcome.Old fella wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 8:44 am Appears your MEC defence had a wide open net to win the game and rang their only shot off the crossbar. Therefore, a potential fatal strategic error.
