Class 1 Renewal with Temporary Licence

Hi everyone,

So for context, I'm waiting for a new aviation booklet and my class 1 expired to a class 3. TC delivered me a temporary licence while waiting for the new booklet to be printed.

How will the doctor certify I am fit for a class 1 now since he can't stamp my booklet? Can he stamp my temporary licence, how does it work in that case?

My doc just emails me fit form with their stamp on it, I print it off and keep with my flight bag.

Stamp the expired booklet.

This, you still need to carry your expired booklet and the stamp will confirm fit while the temporary licence allows you to keep working!
What I don’t understand is, how are you not under the exemption for the booklet, it’s not technically expired. If your booklet was valid on April 1, 2023 it continues to be valid until March 31,2025.

From what I’ve seen, your doctor should be able to fill out a form or a report to certify your fitness for a Class 1. They usually don’t stamp the temporary license; it’s more about the documentation they provide.

They can email / print you a fit to fly letter. Just as good as a stamp.
