Flair birdstrike
Flair birdstrike yesterday in YYZ. The fuselage appears to be damaged.
Re: Flair birdstrike
I saw another picture at the gate, you can see the goose carcass half out of the window, the other half presumably inside with the Captain, scary situation for sure!
Re: Flair birdstrike
I wonder what the collision altitude and indicated airspeed was to do that.
Re: Flair birdstrike
I wondered the same thing, I’ve seen geese above 10,000’

Not sure of the source, but:
On Thursday 24 October tail 915 C-FLKO operating FLE 641 from CYYZ-CYWG struck a large bird shortly after departure at aprox 4000' ASL and a speed of 220kts. The bird, the remains of which were later identified as a sandhill crane, stuck the upper left of the Captain's windshield (L1 Window). The impact destroyed the windshield and remnants of the bird and significant amount of glass shards and dust penetrated through the windshield and in the flight deck. The captain sustained numerous small lacerations from the flying glass and the impact was loud enough to be heard throughout the aircraft and in the aft galley area.
