Where do Air Canada pilots compare to other big airlines?

Post by BillytheKid »

I am debating my future with going into the airlines and where to go to school...how does the new contract for Air Canada pilots compare to US airlines?

I assume it is pretty close now?

Air Canada pilots shit the bed...try to get down south unless you're into Flying the Flag & watching share buybacks when new hires barely make rent in expensive city centers

You also need the scheduling rules to get the time off to do the premiums without getting divorced which is an automatic 50% permanent reduction and instant override

But they will make soooo much more when they become captain after 2 years and at yr 12 they will make even more that it will be worth all the KD and having a second job.

You need to pay your dues!

I had 3 jobs earlier in my career and I still have a side gig for beer money.

It's pretty close now, once you factored in the Canadian Discount...

ALPA leadership got everyone on board with getting behind them to get rid of the Canadian Discount just to fold. Can't explain it.

It's an okay job, but in Canada we are taxed higher than the US, our dollar is worth 70% of a freedom dollar and cost of living in Canada is substantially higher than in the US. We're not on the same planet as those guys.

Yup the muppets that are chirping the most are the PFO’d crowd and the PES ( Pilot Entitlement Syndrome) crowd.

Why do all Air Canada pilots think that any criticism means they got PFO'd?

Does anytime they share an airway with a United plane or they see a pilot from Delta walking by do they get super insecure because they are a joke in comparison despite being from the same union flying the same airplane?

When a company that does require a lot of pilots refuse to hire you for whatever reason. Usually trigger a big hate sentiment.
Also a “please @#$! off”
