Usually happens fairly quick after the interview.
If you need time to find housing before starting groundschool. You could probably defer a class or two if you need time. These are things that you can discuss in the interview. But if you are successful, and want in on the first available class it’s generally two weeks to a month.
Thanks for the info.
What profiles/hours are they hiring now? I meet the requirements but only just, so not sure I'd even get a call.

We’re crazy over staffed for Q FO’s, pilots hired awhile ago are still on reserve barely flying. Don’t see why they would wanna stock the shelves with more Q FO’s rn.
So what's the deal with this? I've seen mention elsewhere on the forum about Q400 FOs not flying much, yet it seems the hiring and GS is just continuing. Any insights there? Having to relocate out to Toronto for little flying and career progress doesn't sound very tempting.

From what I hear, they are hiring instructors and/or people with 703 time. 1000+ hours.
The FO side of the Q is still staffed more than adequately, but the reason they are continuing to hire is probably related to the jet operation.

I'm assuming you mean to cover for when/if the upper echelons of Q pilots move on to the E2? Wouldn't it make sense to slow external E2 hiring in that case? To avoid things stagnating too much on the Q side with pilots sitting around idly.
On another note, there's a YQT specific Q400 FO posting on the site now, with the requirements reduced to 500 hours. The YTZ one still sits at 1000 hours though. It all looks rather confusing from an outsider's perspective.

Not really confusing. Move to YQT, get a seniority number at porter with 500 hrs. Live near YTZ, need a thousand. I applaud the move. It’s clear where they need people.
