Part 66 EASA B1 exams
Hi there!
I am a Canadian resident and I studied aircraft maintenance engineering abroad. I have successfully passed all Part 66 B1 Theoretical Module Exams at a EASA 147 approved organization in Europe, then spent my on the job training at an MRO in Europe from 2023 to 2025. I have about 1000 hours of experience logged.
Since I am returning to Canada, I am wondering what steps would I need to take in order to continue working as an Aircraft Technician/Mechanic. Can my theoretical examinations be converted or may I obtain some sort of documentation stating that I’ve completed these trainings in order to validate them in Canada?

You should have no trouble finding a job, there's a shortage of experienced techs. Bring your exam results and make an appointment at your local TC office and see what they say, if your time is noted and signed for then you should be on your way to getting your Canadian ticket.

@Pacqing you see what I'm talking about? In this country, we continue to produce too much graduates for such a small industry, and guess what? That is correct, they'll just hire experienced people from abroad because that is a way for these companies to save! Why spend on your training here in this country if these companies will pay you and compensate you sh*t? And why would they train here if it's cheaper (and therefore more qualitative) to train people abroad due to cheaper cost of living and good subsidies? It's too f*cking hard to hustle in this country with all these immigrants! Dude, I worked for the airlines before, and my oh my, you got a lot of people in there that is straight from abroad!
Sure, we lack experienced techs, and should we wonder why? It's a no brainer! You are not f*cking training! All you do is hire experienced people from abroad for cheap labour!
Sh*tty f*cking industry, sh*tty f*cking country! I've been saying this before: why not get a 3-year associates degree for $30k and start making $50/hr with just 5 years of experience compare to this piece of sh*t? I've seen people that are doing that! Does it motivate me to see that and then reflect on your job to see how poorly you're treated and compensated and how you struggle to survive with your measly pay and high expenses associated with your job? This is ridiculous! F*ck this piece of sh*t! I've been quiet quitting in the Automotive as I'm stuck with a dead-end job that is not any different to what the f*ck you're doing! Gentlemen, I am happy to groom the airplane or work in stores in the same hangar as you f*cking losers! Admit it, you are also making sh*t! What is the f*cking difference huh? You do the phase check while I clean the airplane, we both get paid the same! I traded my job to slack off and I'm making the same! Why do an expensive job such as this sh*t only to be paid the same? This is f*cking ridiculous!
Nobody cares about this f*cking job! Talk about something else! This industry is a joke!

Must you keep polluting these threads like it’s somehow your quest? It’s kinda getting old and for the umpteeth time… you deserve professional counseling. The anger and resentment you describe is obviously tearing you up from the inside. It’s not normal to perpetually come on to a forum and denigrate your former colleagues.ludivicchua wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 3:19 am @Pacqing you see what I'm talking about? People are hesitant to post here because this dude comes on and rants. Couldn't he be banned? Now it's just not the industry but Canada.

Dude, I put a chocolate cookies in the table, and you're telling me that the table is brown but the cookies are not? Couldn't both share a similar quality? You see, if we already have problems in this country, are you gonna make matter worse by pursuing a terrible career in such a horrible industry as aviation? Let's stop talking jargons for once and be completely honest with me, how much are you making? Get real!
You AMEs and Pilots are marginalized to be completely real, and you are attacking you're own kind? It doesn't help you're cause! I'm speaking for our rights and I'm fighting for our rights, and the least you could do is to support me! I have always been on your side! Have the courage to stand up against these dictatorship!
The industry is f*cked up and what are the things that you are telling me? That I washed out? So I'm the problem here and not the industry? Stop gaslighting and let's be real! The industry is f*cked up and it will take me a book to write a documentary about it!
Let's stop filibustering and be completely straight with me!
You hope that I get banned? I hope this forum get shut down! What a f*cking useless piece of sh*t this website is!

Wow. Not even sure where to start, but I know how to end this.
Ludivicchua, you have made it clear you won't miss this website, and I think the feeling is pretty mutual. Bye.
I think we can all agree that AME's need more respect and money, so there's that. Also, for real you should probably talk to a professional about the anger you are feeling on a constant basis, that isn't healthy for you or those around you. Best of luck on your journey, but it now diverges from this place.
