Getting Ahead of Possible Cat 1 Suspension

Post by AbusiveFO »

I got an ECG done last year as part of the job interview process at AC. It came back with some abnormalities which they wanted to look into. One of the things they had me do was a 24 holter moniter. The holter test seems to have showed the same abnormalities. I have no symptoms, so my guess is that I will be able to continue holding a Cat 1 medical eventually, but not before they first take it away and ask for more testing when I bring this up on renewal.
I understand there are CAMEs that specialize in helping with things like this and I’d like to get more testing done (even at my own expense) if it’s stuff which TC will ask for anyway.
My GP has referred me to a cardiologist, but I haven’t heard from them yet and don’t know what else they’ll want to do.

Has anyone had a similar experience and/or can recommend any CAMEs that could help me with this? I’m in BC if that helps.

Unfortunately in my experience, CAME's only really compile reports and submit them to TC. They won't send you for imaging or specialists themselves, they may suggest some stuff but you will have to do it through your GP anyways.

You mentioned you are applying for AC. Are you a member of an ALPA carrier? If so, ALPA members have access to free consultations with PilotMD.ca as independent advice.
