The one list was tried at WJ and failed miserably. Get a number at AC day 1 and they will handcuff you to jazz for decades. Since the companies are separate this will likely never work. The PML list was a good idea, AC tried to bring that back and it was voted down but I think we will see something similar to that in the future.PittBoss wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 12:43 pmLOLcdnavater wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 3:42 pm Yes, ouch!
Also, those 11 upgrades will likely be gone before they even do 6 months in the left seat!
We need a plan to attract higher time pilots who could upgrade very quickly, 3000 plus two crew environment would be awesome but given even AC is struggling to find applicants over 2000 hours, I’m not holding out any hope!
AC should buy Jazz, all hiring goes directly to Jazz and get a number at AC on day 1, however that looks is above my pay grade.

The 2015 PML was actually a great deal for the Jazz pilots. The one list at Westjet wasn't necessarily a failure when Encore was new and when the airline was growing. It got complicated with the unionization, the Swoop deal and then got murdered when covid hit and Onex bought Sunwing and now the airline has very little no to growth (partly due to Boeing being unable to deliver on their orders). Now you have a semi-overstaffed airline that's projecting reductions out east meanwhile AC and Porter are growing - there might be some guys in YYZ cutting their losses and leaving WJ/WG/Encore for "greener pastures".Nick678 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 10:41 amThe one list was tried at WJ and failed miserably.
