GA Lemo or Airbus Plug

Post by aholenstein »

I am looking to invest in a ANR Headset. Probably the Bose A30... unless i get convinced otherwise...
I would like not to relay on batteries of possible, I am thinking of either getting the Lemo or Airbus Plug and get the adaptor to GA. I fly a Navajo which as the Airbus (6-Pin) and GA plugs.

My question is, what is more widely spread, the Lemo or Airbus Plug?

I've only flown one plane, from boeings to cessnas, that didn't have dual GA plugs. On the plane that had an XLR plug, the company put adapters in.

LEMO headset plug supports stereo, mic, power. XLR is mono, mic, power. Adapters are available between all. I'd say LEMO along with dual GA and XLR adapters as required.... Though, depends on airplanes you'll be flying - if no prospect of stereo music from the airplane, then I guess it doesn't matter. My vote would still be LEMO + adapters as it leaves the option open.

Great, thank you. Didn't realize there are adapters out there from Lemo to XLR... thanks

The Lemo (Bose) plug is more common in GA aircraft, while the Airbus (XLR) plug is standard in commercial and corporate aviation. Since your Navajo supports both, Lemo might offer wider compatibility. drive zone online marketplace
