Anyone tried the TC AIR mobile app? I am in the process of renewing my aviation document booklet and came across TC's strong recommendation to renew on their mobile app, but there's a few things that made it sound less appealing than just mailing the application old-school:
1. To begin with, you have to download an app to your phone, and I imagine, create an account with a secure password and verification of some kind... which will rarely ever get used, and when it does, I will probably have forgotten all the log-in credentials or purchased a new phone.
2. "You must complete all steps in one session"
3. "The app doesn’t save any information you submit. If you close the application mid-session, you will have to start again"
My favourite thing about old-school paper applications is that the document never has a "time-out" from inactivity and erases all the data you put in. I did a 15 minute stop at the pharmacy for a passport photo, paid the fee (which I can expense at work), and then sent off the papers in a letter for about $1.50. No information lost and re-typed, and no painful wait for the website to upload my photo, potentially crashing in the processs (it happened yesterday with my TC boat registration online).
Aside from eliminating the time it takes for mail to be delivered, is there any benefit from the app? Anyone used it? How did you like it? What else can you do on it?

Re: TC AIR mobile App and Document Renewal
It took me 5 minutes or less on the app, and the processing time is quicker on the app vs old school. My application was approved within one week of submitting it, and now I just wait for it to arrive in the mail.

WTF not even an online system, only a bloody app??
As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Websites don't cost enough to make. Just download the app, renew your ADB, then delete it. You just helped 100 people join the federal class (formerly middle class).
