Sim Evaluation
Hi all,
Looking for some insights about the Sim Eval, applied in April.
I've been hearing it's on 767 sim, but just curious what to expect, what would be given beforehand and what could i prepare on my side as well?
Thanks a lot. Cheers

Re: Sim Evaluation
how many hours did you apply with? did you get contacted for a sim eval? I haven't heard of that if your'e over 2000
Re: Sim Evaluation
They understand you don't know how a 767 flies. The goal is to test your aircraft handling skills and ability to never give up. If you becomes unstable on approach go around. Be prepared for entering a hold, tttsafe briefing, read the approach plate, basic IFR stuff but in the sim. Don't forget to use the second guy! Transfer control below 10k for briefing, etcflyingsquirrel777 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 3:53 pm Hi all,

Re: Sim Evaluation
It's mostly a CRM exercise mixed in with stick and rudder skills. Use your resources (the other pilot) and don't try and act like a one hit wonder up there. They know you can't fly a 767.flyingsquirrel777 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 3:53 pm Hi all,

So the NHL is a now a starter gig?..

Re: Sim Evaluation
This company is going to have an accident. Besides the inexperienced new hire babysitting, nothing has changed in terms of fatigue management since the San Francisco near disaster. In fact it's gotten worse.

not everyone does that, Narrow Body is capped at 16, so 19 if you are really unluck and get art + 2 sim in the same month.JungleRiot wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 10:50 amPay your dues pay your dues pay your dues pay your dues
Wide body is also a different animal with it's own different fatigue rule. I can't speak about them, but they often fly with an extra 1-2 pilots and get to sleep at some point to make sure everyone is fit for the landing. But i have heard that doing 6 crossing a month is really not good on the sleep schedule.

Pay your dues? @#$! that... the industry has turned into a pilot's market and "paying your dues" has gone the way of bonds.JungleRiot wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 10:50 amPay your dues pay your dues pay your dues pay your dues

Companies know that. Unions don't seem to realize it.flieslikeachicken wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 3:07 pmPay your dues? @#$! that... the industry has turned into a pilot's market and "paying your dues" has gone the way of bonds.JungleRiot wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 10:50 amPay your dues pay your dues pay your dues pay your dues

junior schedules seems to be that, bunch of CDG / LHR , 24 hour layover, good thing is you are gone 48 hour, compares to the brutal 4 dayer 12 legs pairing we get on narrow body.daedalusx wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 9:58 pm6 crossings a month ???!!Man_in_the_sky wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 2:16 pmnot everyone does that, Narrow Body is capped at 16, so 19 if you are really unluck and get art + 2 sim in the same month.JungleRiot wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 10:50 am

To each his own. I’d much rather do 3 legs a day on a NB and be within 2 time zones than do a long red eye, stay up, reset your body clock, then do it again on the way back.Man_in_the_sky wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 5:50 amjunior schedules seems to be that, bunch of CDG / LHR , 24 hour layover, good thing is you are gone 48 hour, compares to the brutal 4 dayer 12 legs pairing we get on narrow body.daedalusx wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 9:58 pm6 crossings a month ???!!Man_in_the_sky wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 2:16 pm

I'm sure they tried, some aspect were left aside for future negociation i guess. I think everyone was asking for money more than cap on WB ...daedalusx wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 9:27 amTo each his own. Re: Sim Evaluation
Hmmm...we used to do 9 legs in a day sometimes on one type or sometimes 8 legs on an overnight shift on another type.Man_in_the_sky wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 5:50 amjunior schedules seems to be that, bunch of CDG / LHR , 24 hour layover, good thing is you are gone 48 hour, compares to the brutal 4 dayer 12 legs pairing we get on narrow body.daedalusx wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 9:58 pm6 crossings a month ???!!Man_in_the_sky wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 2:16 pm
