Sim philosophy

Post by Hysteria »

Would you say the that the recurrent sim at AC is generally less nerve wracking than if it were an annual ppc? Does it feel more like a trainer?

Yes, I greatly prefer the AQP system.

This has always intrigued me and not just AC. I have never found recurrent sim to ever be nerve racking and I have no clue why so many make such a great deal about it. Or maybe it's just a way to flex a little on social media. I am by no means a rockstar, but I spend time reviewing procedures and memory items in cruise during those long sectors as a way to kill time and stay fresh. I'm certainly not the only who does that, but I do find it helps come sim time. Go in with the mentality that you're there to learn and train and you'll never feel nervous. If you're going to screw up, that would be the place to do it and that's exactly the point. The only time nerves should be a factor are your command upgrade sims. Otherwise, it's just another average day, benign sim session. I do prefer AQP model over the PPC system.

Oh interesting. Personally, I don’t have social media; however, I am becoming more aware of said ‘flexing.’

Good to hear the input. It’s always worth it to stay up to date on reviewing procedures, systems, memory items and so on.
