Upon further review, I've changed my opinion on the G650. It's yesterday's news. The 700 is now Gulfstream's most beautiful of the fleet.

Again, strictly on looks alone

Do owners mainly focus on looks or are they generally more enticed by specs? (Speed, range)

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

I suspect the venn diagram of Gulfstream owners and avcanada posters doesn't have much overlap (unless you include the Grumman AA series).

Gulfstream vs Global is the aviation equivalent of Rolls Royce Phantom vs Mercedes Maybach. Yes both at the top of automotive premium products. Does the Maybach outperform the Phantom in some regards? Probably. But at the end of the day it's a tarted up S-Class. The Phantom is a bespoke engineered and designed product. There is no poor man's version. Some people don't care about that, or want to maintain a lower profile. The ones that want the ultimate get a Gulfstream.

I'm with you. Peasants fly with only 2 engines.

Sounds reasonable, but brokers and pilots might now as well what the owners value most.

No bean counters, operator's, flight department managers, chief pilots or even J. Gottrocks in back would ever choose between a Global and a Gulfstream based on looks. Once onboard and the engines are started nobody is thinking about what the airplane looks like.

You buy the jet best suited to how you're going to use it.

Did you really call the Global a "tarted up S-Class? Hilarious

I’ll take a Falcon any day over a Bombardier or Gulfstream.

I'll take the G800 18,250 pound thrust single engine rate of climb at takeoff over your 8X three Holer on two.
