C1D Visa

Post by herbmelnick »

Hello all,

Requesting clarification for C1D visa for permanent residents with foreign passports.

Porter is asking for C1D visa prior to video interview but many people are saying that one can not get C1D visa without letter of employment ?

What is the solution here ?

You can ask them how they usually handle this for other candidates, since you’re definitely not the first one. If no offer yet, they can write you a conditional letter explaining that you will require a C1/D visa in order to be employed by the company.

Also, when I did it, there was a long wait to get an appointment. You can request an emergency appointment explaining that you’re a pilot and require a visa.

Best of luck!

"Porter HR mentioned that many successful candidates already hold a C1/D visa. This implies that having the visa beforehand is likely a prerequisite for being considered

Porter should be supplying you with a conditional letter. Not an offer but a letter stating that the job requires a C1D before you are offered one. That's how some other airlines do it.

you may apply C1/D visa , and explain that you need it to apply for future job applications in canada that require you to hold c1/d visa . - met 2 pilots who did so and were approved
