AC Interviewer here... I go through every page. I've caught things that don't add up. The longer it takes for you to recall where you worked, when you started there, when you left, etc., the more I start digging. Your logbook should be certified unless you have a compelling reason.Snipergang wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2026 8:49 am Another question for you guys, in the interview I heard before they even start they take your logbook and go through it. Are they pretty picky on it? I heard that pretty much every time you have in there needs to be certified.

Just curious, what's the % of pilots currently getting interviewed that don't get hired even though they the experience?

Re: 2026 PIT FLEET AC
Sorry I'm a small cog in a big department. By design, interviewers are pretty detached from the overall process and don't make decisions on hiring. I don't have access to numbers like these. I will say, I tend to put "recommended for hire" on the vast majority of my interviews but we don't make the final call.Loran_C wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2026 5:21 ambluejay, bluejay wrote: ↑Sun Apr 19, 2026 5:10 pmAC Interviewer here... Yes - well May 18th Class, 13-15 "at home study days" is more accurate I guess.7up wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2026 2:19 pmIs it May 13th class?Airspeed Addict wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2026 12:56 amgot called on the 24th for May PIT. Interviewed Feb 9th.
Re: 2026 PIT FLEET AC
That's nice that they pay you for home study now. They told me to have the whole FOM read plus days of HR onboarding work that was unpaid. It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth years later. Talk about starting off on the wrong foot, still doing unpaid training at that level of my career.

When did you guys do your medical?
Re: 2026 PIT FLEET AC
I guess the rumours of no more pits after may was incorrect.flieslikeachicken wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2026 9:27 amAirspeed Addict wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2026 12:56 am got called on the 24th for May PIT. Interviewed Feb 9th.When did you guys do your medical?

Anyone have predictions for Vancouver positions in the CMSC in June? I'm guessing there'll be some 787 positions.

Re: 2026 PIT FLEET AC
That combination is probably the slowest moving in the whole company. Most recent class is 31 new hires and all for YYZ and YUL, with some RP spots on the 777 & 330. The widebody positions usually start with RP only.Launchpad1 wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2026 2:36 pm Anyone have predictions for Vancouver positions in the CMSC in June? Re: 2026 PIT FLEET AC
It takes at least a year to get to YVR, bottom of the 220 list. 2-3 years to get bottom of either the 777 or 787 RP in Vancouver. I doubt you’d get a YVR position in PIT.Launchpad1 wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2026 2:36 pm Anyone have predictions for Vancouver positions in the CMSC in June? I'm guessing there'll be some 787 positions.
Welcome to Redneck Airlines. We might not get you there but we'll get you close!

oops sorry I've been here over 3 years, I meant CMSC not PIT, should've posted on a more appropriate thread. It takes at least a year to get to YVR, bottom of the 220 list. 2-3 years to get bottom of either the 777 or 787 RP in Vancouver. I doubt you’d get a YVR position in PIT.

Re: 2026 PIT FLEET AC
There were open 787 and 220 CA/FO spots Feb bid in YVR. The widebody will always go senior there, though if you've been around 3 years, you should be able to hold it if it opens in June. Guesses? Besides more 220 positions, no idea.Launchpad1 wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2026 4:27 pmoops sorry I've been here over 3 years, I meant CMSC not PIT, should've posted on a more appropriate thread. It takes at least a year to get to YVR, bottom of the 220 list. 2-3 years to get bottom of either the 777 or 787 RP in Vancouver. My guess is MOAB. Let's see how well that ages.flying4dollars wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2026 8:55 pmThere were open 787 and 220 CA/FO spots Feb bid in YVR. Re: 2026 PIT FLEET AC
Probably flat bid.
The April bid was cancelled because they wanted to cut and reduce, but someone had some sense apparently and kicked the cab to June at least...
No direction or leadership... Expect a nonevent at best.

Re: 2026 PIT FLEET AC
I don't think we will see any cutting or reducing. I solely base that on the 600 new hires for 2026 cumulatively as well as their ambitious plans of 30% growth by the 2030's. This even in the current economic climate. I suspect we will see more 787 positions company wide as well as 220 and 737/320 rouge shuffle. No MOAB but maybe something somewhat similar to the February bid. But I do agree with the lack of leadership and direction seems a bit diluted at best.
Re: 2026 PIT FLEET AC
Vacancies created by the first round of the Share Trust VSPs will be reflected in the June bid. It sound like there will only be 25-30 VSPs offered but it will create a few vacancies at least.

Re: 2026 PIT FLEET AC
The Feb bid reflected 787 staffing for the current airplanes plus two 787-10s arriving this summer. Any additional positions will require more airplanes to show up. That being said, it’s possible some options might be exercised or cancelled orders reopened due to the A321XLR performance issues requiring some equipment reshuffling on various routes.
