Nice graphic - states it better than I ever could.
Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find in this business
Re: "Influencer Pilots"
If someone has met the standards and is following company social media guidelines and has consent of the other crew, I don’t see what the big deal is.
Watching morbidly obese functioning alcoholic boomer captains nearly have a coronary talking about their ex wives and Carney are stealing all their money is less professional and more harmful.
If the travelling public knew what pilots of all kinds were like in real life they’d probably never get on an airplane again. At least an influencer has to be accountable to an audience.

Re: "Influencer Pilots"
I find most of the “influencers” are from a certain demographic that coincidently is the lousiest skilled pilots that I have worked with.

They also have a tendency to land airplanes upside down. Ooopsies

Just because it isnt against the rules doesnt mean its not trashy or gives a bad image to other pilots.‘Bob’ wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2026 4:43 pm If someone has met the standards and is following company social media guidelines and has consent of the other crew, I don’t see what the big deal is.

Leave it to Bob to justify the nonsense. You still haven't answered my question. Twice now.
Re: "Influencer Pilots"
It doesn't bother me at all. There is overlap with the DEI people though which I do think is huge problem.

It's because Bob has been programmed to agree with every social contagion that is the darling of the left regardless of the evidence on front of their eyes.khedrei wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2026 1:20 amJust because it isnt against the rules doesnt mean its not trashy or gives a bad image to other pilots.‘Bob’ wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2026 4:43 pm If someone has met the standards and is following company social media guidelines and has consent of the other crew, I don’t see what the big deal is.

Remember diversity is our strength. The Western world built nothing of value. Importing millions is good for us. People shitting in the street is an improvement to our culture. Feelings matter more than truth. Etc etc.
Unfortunately Bob is about a third of Canada.
Maybe they will wake up when everything they value has been lost to tidal wave of failure their loving policies bring.

Here’s a question for you. Would you be comfortable having your passengers know what you post here while you were on duty?
No difference. Other than you get to hide your name and your face.
There but for the grace of god go I.
Re: "Influencer Pilots"
Meh. It's silly and ridiculous and embarrassing for the people in the videos, but I doubt it gives pilots in general a bad image. I think people will just assume it's fake. Like when I see the occasional video of female farmers of mechanics in pristine clothing working on dirty oily equipment. It doesn't give farmers or mechanics a bad name. It's just silly and fake.khedrei wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2026 1:20 amJust because it isnt against the rules doesnt mean its not trashy or gives a bad image to other pilots.‘Bob’ wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2026 4:43 pm If someone has met the standards and is following company social media guidelines and has consent of the other crew, I don’t see what the big deal is.

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Re: "Influencer Pilots"
I dont post anything in here while im on duty. But I would be fine with them knowing what I post. I dont hide who I am. Anyone who wants to know who I am can easily find out by doing very little digging. I haven't posted anything i wouldnt stand by or anything im ashamed of. You on the other hand... the stuff you make up... You cant say the same.‘Bob’ wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2026 1:04 pmWhat question?khedrei wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2026 1:20 amJust because it isnt against the rules doesnt mean its not trashy or gives a bad image to other pilots.‘Bob’ wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2026 4:43 pm If someone has met the standards and is following company social media guidelines and has consent of the other crew, I don’t see what the big deal is.

My question again. You want America to go away so badly? Who would you have take their place? There are only a couple of real options. Tell me which country you would prefer to have the largest influence in the world.

Way to celebrate our bread basket and those brought to you by *egars* female farmers!

Not necessarily the person, but definitely the situation and the framing. Sort of like influencer pilots.TeePeeCreeper wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2026 11:08 pmSo Female farmers whom may have dressed up all for a clip are now phoneys?

I think you've earned the right to crash a plane without public scrutiny when you experience a low level engine failure after you've flown a biplane across the world.pelmet wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2026 7:16 am

With all the controversy about those flights, I believe that many doubted the credibility of the partial engine failure as being one of the reasons given for the crash.digits_ wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2026 7:54 amI think you've earned the right to crash a plane without public scrutiny when you experience a low level engine failure after you've flown a biplane across the world.pelmet wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2026 7:16 am

Re: "Influencer Pilots"
What are you dancing around? What was the real cause?
Re: "Influencer Pilots"
From my brief research she didn't fly the biplane across the world though. She had lied to the media and her sponsors about recreating a historic solo female flight. She was instead caught being flown around by a man and had her award retracted.
Re: "Influencer Pilots"
Suspect just the high density altitude portion of reasons given…..plus flying technique in such conditions.Daniel Cooper wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2026 4:35 pm What are you dancing around? What was the real cause?

The report found no evidence of an engine problem and it subsequently ran just fine on a test - which makes public scrutiny quite appropriate regarding the claims by the pilot, whose whole premise for the global flights that made her famous, was found to be different than what was originally claimed.
Dry Guy is actually an example of how so many(including major corporate sponsors) were tricked by the Bird in a Biplane bandwagon. No one was following up the solo claims that were put forward and with the accidents(one of which could have chopped up anyone in the helicopter) led some to wonder if it was a case of a birdbrain in a biplane.
It seems that these influencers have a tendency to lose focus on the primary goal….safety. I seem to remember reading about several that have fallen off cliffs, trying to get that perfect picture or video for their followers.

Re: "Influencer Pilots"
As a general rule I don't allow cameras on my flight deck except to take scenery pics or record problems for maintenance. i have also replaced crew that disobeyed that rule
