From TSB....
C-FGQP, a Top Aces Inc. McDonnell Douglas A-4N, was landing at Cold Lake/Group Captain R.W. McNair Airport (CYOD), AB. As the aircraft crossed the threshold of Runway 13L, the pilot attempted to flair the aircraft and noticed that the stick travel was restricted. The pilot applied power, used stabilizer trim and applied maximum force with both arms on the stick to arrest the descent. The aircraft landed and taxied back to parking under its own power. The pilot was uninjured. Maintenance investigation discovered evidence of a restriction on the control yoke elevator torque tube caused by a loose bolt.

Fuel is the responsibility of the PIC.Tolip wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 1:35 pm When weather is in doubt, this is a good lesson and reminder to petition your dispatcher for additional fuel. Or start your diversion early, when your fuel is still above your Minimum diversion fuel.
I can only imagine how the flight crew felt looking at their fuel on board and knowing they only have about 30 mins of flying time left.
Flightplan fuel is a starting point - I'll take as much extra as I think is needed.
I just need to give an explanation about why extra fuel was taken.
I haven't heard a word about taking extra fuel in over 20 years.
Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find in this business
