Re: Inflation is coming...in a big way. Part 3. DEBT CRISIS
I'm not sure how a recession aka 2 consecutive quarters of economic shrinking is good in a "growth at all cost" world economy.
Remember, western countries' governments depends on "growth at all costs" to hide their over-spending, fund their unfunded liabilities, hide the fact that their social security systems will be bankrupt in 5 years as the boomers retire, and send money to Ukraine to fund destruction of equipment in a pointless war, "give now, pay later" -style.
This strong recession will used to introduce CBDCs with limited spending dates ("you must spend all your paycheque by this date or lose it"), link to your medical and social records (as seen on Chinese TV, "buy a ticket to a city with planned protest and see your funds frozen and qr code pass turn red)), no privacy, and immediate bail-in and bail-out capabilities.
Once this comes, our last ability for regime change, violent revolution, will disappear because people will be 1 day away from an empty stomach and will thus be compliant to every edict. Look at how our supposed virtuous leaders in Ottawa quashed the peaceful truckers. And we're supposed to be the True North "Strong and Free".
Only way we get out of this before it happens involves unrest, violence, and pain. Most people are already a smaller-than-expected paycheque from financial ruin, so it's too late. Enjoy the ride. Put some money aside in cash and private cryptos, they'll be the "future cash" once paper cash transactions disappear. Weak men are creating the hard times. You ready?

DId you notice that 45 of them are pilots? There are a lot of doctors, nurses, law enforcement officers, IT professionals, college instructors, and yes, even tradespeople on there. Is your argument that the people on that list are leeches who are bleeding taxpayers, including the pilots, and that those pilots don't deserve to make over $100000? $100000 isn't very large for an experienced pilot's income.rookiepilot wrote: ↑Thu Apr 21, 2022 3:50 pm Lets start with this:

Re: Inflation is coming...in a big way. Part 3. DEBT CRISIS
Because this is AvCanada, and 90% of the people here are pilots. You're pretty quick to jump on a list of "overpaid" civil servants because you think they all stand around water coolers from 10 am to 3 pm, when the reality is that thousands of people on that list earn their income by applying years of experience and working hard doing things like flying medivacs and police helicopters. How much do you think those pilots should be earning? How much do you think police officers and fire fighters should be earning? You didn't mention the "Ont Pwr Generation exec's making a million a year"; you only mentioned the sheer number of people on the list, and the vast majority of them earn their livings.rookiepilot wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 4:19 pmNo, I didn’t. I didn’t read it to break out every category. Did I specifically call out pilots?SPR wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 9:14 pmDId you notice that 45 of them are pilots? Oil up 17%. This week.

Be careful of who you believe(goldeneagle wrote: ↑Wed Apr 20, 2022 4:18 pmBetween Mulrooney and Harper, the PC governments tallied up more debt than all previous governments combined.
Mulroney from 84 to 93, then Harper from 06 to 15.
Interesting to note on that chart, from 93 to 2003 (Chretien Liberal government) the debt line is fairly flat. Likewise from 2015 to the start of the pandemic.
The conservatives are conservative in name only, sell a bill of goods to a base that cant do basic arithmetic, convince them that they are going to 'balance the books' then proceed on a spending spree once elected.
Question for those who are interested. Of the last 10 prime ministers in Canada, which passed on balanced books to the incoming new government?

They are still rambling on about Mulroney while that free trade agreement they literally ran an election against saves our economy. Looks like we actually will see how much economic damage they will accept to protect the dairy farmers screwing us over on prices.
Re: Inflation is coming...in a big way. Part 3. DEBT CRISIS
Deflation is only bad to government who overspend their budgets and their debtors who enable them.
Best case scenario for the Western world is deflation associated with massive remigration waves back to the 2nd and 3rd world. Will create enduring peace and prosperity

Remember, 10 years ago, he himself agreed to every single dairy tariff/quota etc!
How many times last year did he say no exemptions, no exceptions and they TACO'd out dozens of times?

Just speaking to dairy prices, my wife had a recipe requiring two cups of heavy sour cream, we went to the store to get all the ingredients and when she went to make it we realized the BS these companies are pulling on their customers!pelmet wrote: ↑Mon Sep 07, 2026 11:35 pmBe careful of who you believe(goldeneagle wrote: ↑Wed Apr 20, 2022 4:18 pmBetween Mulrooney and Harper, the PC governments tallied up more debt than all previous governments combined.

Exact same size container but less content, it was a 500ml container with 425ml in it, obviously we should have looked but for Christmas sake this shrinkflation has gone out of control. We even had another container in the fridge of the same brand that was not full, why we needed more but it was 450ml, so shrunk further since the last one, which btw was still before the best before date!
So, dairy farmers in Canada can kiss my ass, bring on the competition!

Others are to caught up in emotional derangement and will destroy everything to get an insult in……and bash conservatives for stuff in the 80’s.
Welcome to Canada.

North Shore you might as well nuke this one too.

Now he calls for censorship... definitely a Liberal.
Re: Inflation is coming...in a big way. Part 3. DEBT CRISIS
Well, I think he doesn't like when I show how his arguments are fraudulent. He accused Harper of jingoism for supporting American wars yet when I call him out for our current government supporting the Iran war, there is silence or calls for a thread to be closed.
Speaking of censorship....here is what many of the Bob-types seem to want to do....literally put you in jail. Think about that.

I'm pretty sure the current government doesn't support the Iran war.

"with regret". Basically means the war is a dumb clusterfuck, but we have to be seen supporting the US (at least with words).
Re: Inflation is coming...in a big way. Part 3. DEBT CRISIS
Brian Lilly is an absolute hack. Posting opinion pieces from the sun and stats from the blatantly biased fraser institute as sources does not strengthen your arguments.pelmet wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2026 7:47 amWell, I think he doesn't like when I show how his arguments are fraudulent. Conventional wisdom would make one ponder that it must be a slow news cycle that would get the AVCanada media correspondents to resurrect a thread that was what… initiated four and a half years ago especially when the topic in question falls a tad short of aviation. However I digress.
Re: Inflation is coming...in a big way. Part 3. DEBT CRISIS
Hahahaha. First they lie and say that Carney did not support the war. Then when exposed, they come up with desperate excuses for why he supported the war.
Re: Inflation is coming...in a big way. Part 3. DEBT CRISIS
Notice how the fraud counter-argument is not explaining in detail why Brian Lilly is wrong in this article. Only an insult at him.....zero credibility.5degrees wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2026 12:45 pmBrian Lilly is an absolute hack. That is how the zero-credibility arguments work. They can't come up with a reasonable argument, so all they can do is point at the age of the thread.55+ wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2026 12:54 pmConventional wisdom would make one ponder that it must be a slow news cycle that would get the AVCanada media correspondents to resurrect a thread that was what… initiated four and a half years ago especially when the topic in question falls a tad short of aviation. Time does not change the facts of that graph. Ok why don't you provide proof that what lillys article says may happen has ? What about proof that the Sun is a reputable news source, or that the Fraser institute is a non biased entity ? Notice Pelmet doesn't provide any counter arguments to these claims because he knows he cant.pelmet wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2026 1:02 pmThat is how the zero-credibility arguments work.
