What would you do?
What would you do????
You have 500tt , with a little time on multi-engine, and you have an offer to:
- fly right seat a jet, about 250 hrs/year in a really small village with a good wage.
or
-fly light twins (Navajo, Seneca, and possibly King Air) not really good wage but fly 600/hrs more per year, in a town.
thanks

I'd thank my lucky stars that I have two good offers with only 500TT and then make a decision ASAP so that I don't get screwed out of losing either one of them. Some people would kill for a decision like this. Do you want to do corporate work for a while, or do you want to build time quickly to go for the Airlines? Depends what you want man...

id take the jet time. put away some cash, and worry about building bulk time later. jet time doesn't come around that often at 500tt.
you can always go back later and get your PA31, PA34 or King Air Job.
but 500 - 1000 hours of jet time will help you out later in you career.

I would ask them if all you have to do is fly for them, and see if they will have you doing anything else in the DownTime that you have.
250hrs a year is not alot of flying, so you will probably have "other duties".
Will you get ANY ...PIC time in this acft?
If after 2 yrs you have approx 500hrs of F/O jet time, you will have approx 1000hrs tt, maybe the industry will be in a position at that time to hire a guy with your qualifications.( ie 500 or les PIC )
Or maybey not.
Do the math first before you sign up.

I have a good solution for you...
you take what ever option suits you...cause like guys said above me, people would kill for jobs like that...and you pass on the other job to me....because we are pretty much same in experience level
All the best either way man, great way to kick off 2006!!!

i have a minor queery... the last low timers posting that have had a tough choice to make have mentionned where they will be living... should this really be a factor in your first job choice? to me a small village is 200 people north of 55 with no roads... i have a feeling you're talking about something with road signs and pavement...
In the beginning, you will only be obscuring your choices' pros and cons by putting "living area" in the mix... wait till you have moved around for a few years, then get picky about the small stuff.
take the village/town outta the mix and it will make your decision easier, leaving only the basic factors of the decision..
(unles you have a family, then i'll shut up, cuz i have no clue)
Good Luck, ww
