Hey guys... new to the forum. flyboy1234 just wondering when you did your interview to get called for the Feb 20 AC course? Was it last year or in Jan sometime... I did mine in Jan and I'am still waiting for a call, It's been over 3 weeks and no PFO letter so I guess thats a good sign... Thanks
I did my interview in Jan and havent heard anything either ... its almost been 3 weeks .. but i was told in the interview ...not to expect a call for a month and then possibly not a course for maybe upto a month following a call... guess they have a bit of a pool right now...
How did you guys get notified for the interview? New to the forum, living in the states and dying to get back to Canada... 3400tt, 1950Pic, 1100JetSic etc.. Does this rank?
Any info might help... I am trying to decide if I should accept an interview from Jazz or wait for the AC call
They WON"T be on the 320 unless ACPA agrees to it, which they won't at the present time, thanks in part to more company shinanigans (sp?) wrt 747 wet-leases... They CANNOT put new hires on the 320, it's black and white in the contract (for once)!
Technically yes, if their seniority will hold it. My guess is there are more than a few people who are already on the Embraer itching to get out of the pay group.

Even if they get off the Embraer now, they would still be on status pay for 2 years.
Makes more sense to stay on the ERJ for the first 2 years with some seniority and hold a block, than to go on the 320 to be on reserve.
Exactly man! Don't forget they will get 2 good years of vacation as well, if they stay on the EMB. It serves no good purpose for a new hire to bid the 320 in the 1st 2 years... Unless they have a real hard on to fly it (it is a nice a/c to fly!).
We have F/O's who have been on the Embraer for less than 6 months and are starting their 320 courses now.
I fail to see how the company thinks they are saving money with this pay group. ACPA will not allow direct entry 320 positions as long as the PG remains in its' present state.
When you consider the amount of money it takes to train a new pilot, taking into account lost productivety while he is in groundschool and sitting at home awaiting simulator, then Line Indoc and displacements....etc. The guys who are now on course for the 320, have less than 100 hours on the Embraer and will have been in "school" for 8 months out of the last 12.
So what would you want to ask from ACE in exchange for letting them put new hires on the 320? Sounds like 320 crews are working a bit of an onerous schedule, maybe due in part to being undermanned because of this stipulation.
