Well Rowdy and permateacher I was not involved in the beating that guy took as I had left the company before it happened.

However if either of you knew the guy and the things he did to his colleauges at that company you would maybe change your mind.

And to this:

" Alright... fire away, but if you do, have a little pride in yourself and tell me who you are..."

I think everyone on Avacanda should know who I am by now, and who in hell do you think you are to query if I have pride?

What in hell does my relating a true story have to do with my pride, or is everyone supposed to be bleeding hearts in your mind?

Wasn't taking about you Cat Driver,

Everyone knows who you are.

I only said that because I was expecting a pounding from the dudes that spoke out against me annonyonsly (sp?) last time I made a post. It got ugly fast and I wanted to at least make sure I got my point across first. Back to the subject of the story. I couldn't make out from the posts if you were one of the guys or not. It don't matter, because I was getting at the fact that you supported it. I'm speaking out against the fact that some people think this was a good idea. I know it probably happened a long time ago and things were different, but some new guy is reading that and getting the idea that someone that has been around as long as yourself thinks this is a good idea. I'm saying that it easy for guys to fall in step with oldtimers to make themselves look like old hands themselves. This website is about speaking your mind, and even though I may get flack I wanted to stand up and say that stuff is crap and shouldn't be celebrated.

Hey, no hard feelings perma because in general I agree that violence is not the way to settle things...except sometimes it sure beats the hell out of what ever action should have been used.

In that case no one had any symphathy for him, and who ever did it were never identified.

And the lesson was well learned as he ceased to be the company rat.

Heya cat, wasn't trying to rag on you at all.. Just pointing out that yes sometimes violence works and sometimes doesn't and I'm sure he'll never ever forget that beating... but a verbal bashing from countless peers and fellow employees I think does much much greater damage. It's not about whats "right" or whats "wrong" in these sort of gray areas... if it worked that well in the end then it probably was the thing to do. People have been doing it for hundreds of years.. but as we all know each situation varies.

Another joint that I worked for the guys would pin you and shrink wrap you to a wall or hand dolley if they liked ya. Nobody ever took it the wrong way either.

I really wish we had the balls to do what you guys did.... would have really been nice working with a sufficiently "attitudinally adjusted" individual after he managed to stick it to everyone (except those connected to the a**es he was kissing of course).

Anyway, he ended up taking his newly minted PPC and upgrade and bolted for greener pastures, so in the end he screwed those who let him be their "golden boy". The moral of the story was that everyone got screwed (except him).
I think I know him. Hey mostlyharmless, does he remind you of someone we know?

Hey gang, I just thought of something.

After a deserving prick gets the crap beat out of him by his coworkers, the feel good social engineering PC thinkers in Canada already have two groups avaliable to serve both parties in these activities....

...The crap kickers must take a "Sensitivity Training " course.

...The crap kicked person gets "Grief councelling "

Hell problem solved...
