161 hired so far (includes 27 March course).

100 hundred more over the next three months and then 20/month for the rest of 2006.

Not much but it's from the horse's mouth:

Our pilot hiring continues unabated. Since the program resumed in July 2005, Air Canada has hired 161 pilots including 18 candidates on the March 27 course. Over the next three months, we are planning to hire up to one hundred pilots, and at least 20 a month for the remainder of 2006. Although our minimum requirements are 1000 hours and a Commercial Pilot’s Licence, Flight Operations is only interviewing candidates with at least 3000 hours and an ATPL. At present, we have over 5000 applicants to select from on our Website. To assist us during this period of high volume hiring, Captain Sterling Little (retired) and Ms. Jennifer Johnson have joined the hiring team.

Cheers.

The "Air Canada Pilots Private Forum" is an EZboard.com forum. You must be an Air Canada pilot to register and get access.

There is lots of activity and good information on it. If you are an Air Canada pilot, and have not yet registered, you can do so here:
http://pub15.ezboard.com/baircanadapilotsprivateforum

There used to be an official ACPA forum, but it was shut down due to liability concerns.

The Original Air Canada Pilots have a separate private forum as do the Ex-Canadian Airlines Pilots. (OCP Forum)

They are sometimes referred to as the Purple, Red, and Blue forums.

I hear you get a free hat and pen if you apply?

Any truth to this. I could always use a new hat.

I think they ask for your name, employee number and date of hire.
