Interview format

Just wondering about the format for the interview.
Is there a medical, tech interview, and what about a sim eval?
Oh and how about the phone interview?
I am scheduled for the phone interview next week. :D

Congradulations. But as you can see it's taking the happy campers a long time to give you some very important info. Anyway, good luck on your interview. My advice is to sound "happy" on the phone. :smt035

No sim eval yet. From what I've heard phone interview is basically a review of your resume and application. Yes tech exam and medical. No idea whats on the exam should be pretty straight forward I would imagine.

Congratulations on getting a Phone Interview! You’re on the path to getting in, and that’s important. I’ve read some stuff here posted by Flight Levels, just skim through the older posts and hopefully you can find it. Good luck, let us know how you do.

It changed recently and many of us do not know what the format is.

just as stated before, It will be an HR/people dept person calling you...she will go over your resume and give you alot of info too(have a pen ready and any questions you may have). She will also ask you one or two behavior based questions.(try not to get too technical...save it for the panal interview) Then you will be invited for a medical with Dr. Adams then a quick open book tech exam and one written answer question( your choice of 5 topics) then the regular interview we have done now for years...that's all. Be yourself and relax..don't stress. If you have good flying experience you have a wealth of stories...were you PROACTIVE, calm and a professional and personable?.....It's all about you day! Good luck! :wink:

Well folks the phone interview was just like flightlevels suggested I believe we talked for a little over an hour, It was strait forward.
Even though I was several time zones away I still managed to get dry mouth and sweat a little bit. Oh well. :wink:
I was told about the company policies and pay structure stuff and at the end she said it could be up to a week to hear back from them via an email.
I got an email six hours later inviting me to YYC for an interview. :D

congrats!!!! I would go to the web site and do a little reading on the company history/culture. It might not be asked on the first interview but you never know. There is also a program called the "care giver", this is put in place to assist families that are involved in airline disasters. It is a volintary program but you get some neat training and the company is always looking for pilots to be a part of it. You may want to mention this in the interview. Team is the key word. As for the exam I have not heard much about it, basics I would guess, mach #, high altitude aerodynamics, maybe some wx questions. Best of luck, welcome to the company.

The technical exam does not have any WestJet nor 737 questions to it, if that helps.

I never had to write it but I've enquired a little about the new hiring process.

My advice is just remember to be yourself. There's no need to be "happy" as Tony S. mocks like it's a bad thing (ACE must be a fun place...), just honest.

Well I did the interview this week and all I can say is that it was very relaxed to say the least. They are not there to grill you but to find out about you and this is done through these behavior type questions.
As for the test......
It is open book and I think it is 25 questions and at the end the is a choice of four topics that they would like you to elaborate on and give details about. The tests do change as do the essay type questions. They also ask you not to discuss the questions with others.
To be honest it was really not a big deal and it actually got me to look up a couple things I had not see or had anything to do with in years.
The whole thing was a good experience which ever way it ends up. Great people to deal with for sure.

Just curious.....has Westjet offered you employment since then or is it a waiting game like AirCanada has been doing lately.
